Can't wait for it to be prescription only, then I'll get it all free - whoooo Hadn't thought of that!... do you think we will get a Provari on the NHS... a drop in the ocean to what they are paying agency nurses and doctors according to the latest news... but I won't comment further on that. Ooooh yes I'm sure they would a Provari on prescription. After all, they've spent years bullying us into packing up smoking so they would want us to be happy with our choice

Quite a fair and unbiased article, especially considering it's the Daily Wail. As for the doctors' opinions - not really surprising some are wary of vaping when it's something we're inhaling into our lungs. My own GP didn't try to talk me out of it; when I said it's safer than smoking she just said "Just because it's safer than smoking doesn't mean it's safe". She was 100% right and I wouldn't have respected her if she's said otherwise. Can't wait for it to be prescription only, then I'll get it all free - whoooo

Smoking is buying cigs, sparking one up, and smoking it. Vaping is a hobby. Nearest analogues come to it is pipe smokers, with the ritual of cleaning a pipe, and lighting it. But very much less a hobby. Vaping isn't a hobby for everyone though, some just ego and that's it which is fine but I can't see how it can't be an alternative to smoking. you choice to smoke or vape or some do both. How one isn't an alternative for the other goes over my head To say its it's a means to an end is fine but it's still an alternative to smoking Yes, very true. When I said it's a means to an end for me, I simply meant it's a quit smoking aid - something temporary in other words, rather than a new, permanent hobby.

It was never an alternative for me, it was a means to an end, an aid to stop smoking, which it did more successfully than I ever hoped for.
I agree about the different flavours .... in recent years I smoked Old Holborn rollies exclusively, never even considered buying anything else and couldn't afford tailor mades anyway. I thought I might still smoke the odd cigarette after I switched to vaping but it hasn't happened, I've had no cravings for cigarettes at all, even now I'm right down to 6mg or zero mg nicotine.
To be honest I believe the messing about with various batteries etc and all the different flavour combinations has kept me distracted enough to not even think of missing the ciggies. After 42 years of smoking, it's all I can put it down to.

Well the fact is no-one knows what the long term effects of inhaling liquid vapour will be. That is what they should be worried about, not the effects of second hand vapour. I've noticed, though that in all these articles, the writers always assume we vapers are inhaling nicotine in fairly high doses. No mention of the thousands of us who atually vape zero nicotine liquid or very very low strength nicotine. As an example, I started off on medium strength (12-18mg) and only stayed on that for a few days before going down to 8mg and then 6mg. Apart from a few low strength bottles I have left, I'm now on zero nicotine. So unless it turns out that PG and VG, or something in the additives (flavourings, colourings) is harmful when inhaled, it still has to be way less harmful than smoking.

Thank you all so much for the lovely Birthday wishes. Had a nice day today and it's hard to believe I've been one whole month smoke free. Well, one month and one day to be precise lol. I didn't think I would succeed and I know I would never have been able to do it6 without the vapes. I'm down to 6mg or zero nicotine now which I'm delighted with and the next step is to stop the vaping altogether. Not yet though, I'm having too much fun with it. Thanks again everyone

I can't take the heat either, anything above 70 and I'm moaning lol. We did have a few thunderstorms last week but they don't seem to cool things down like they used to. Our weather is changing it seems, always that horrible muggy, clammy heat that means no sleep, even with fans going day and night. Roll on September I say .... at least if it's still warm during the day, the nights will be drawing in and it will be a lot cooler by the evenings.

I found blue baboon really lacking flavour. And bazilla custard too. Spider venom and baked pear were packed with flavour though. I really wanted to try Spider Venom, but according to their description it eats plastic tanks and my tanks are all plastic
