SpiritdancerVapemunki recommend that the juices need steeping, you'll see a note from them when you receive your order. I steeped mine for 3 weeks before trying them so cannot say how they tasted before, but after they were great. I'll do likewise then, make a note of when to use them in 3 weeks time. Meanwhile I'll be stocking up from a local seller this weekend, he has never mentioned his needing to be steeped so that'll give me some to try out straight away When I started last weekend I bought mostly tobacco flavours, that was my first mistake, since then I've bought 3 or 4 others but not enough to experiment with.

Spiritdancer - I'm not sure on how long you MIGHT have to leave them before trying them - patience is something you're going to have to have, sometimes I know .... and that's gonna be a problem, it's sooo tempting to try new juices as soon as they arrive. Well it is when you're new to it all anyway. But I will try.

Spider Venom throat hit isn't vicious at all, it's all flavour in your mouth & it is awesomely awesome I liked the sound of Spider Venom but the reason I didn't order it was because they say in the description "It eats plastic tanks".

Spiritdancer & csmith10 - Spider Venom - gorgeousness in a bottle and yes I know it's only MY opinion, but if you both buy loads of it & don't like it, I will be a friendly friend and take it off you so you don't have to suffer I didn't go for spider venom I'm afraid I didn't order Spider Venom in the end. I ordered Blue Baboon, Vanity Flair, Baked Pears, Autumn Storm, Tropical Thunder, Bazilla Custard. My order has been dispatched, can't wait to get them

I don't have anywhere near enough juice yet my own fault for mainly starting off with tobacco flavours. Not all bad though as I'm not ready to cut the tobacco out altogether yet. Anyway my mainstay is Virginia, Cappuccino and Vanilla mixed, especially first thing in the mornings. After that I alternate between that and my other mix - RY4, Red Cola with 2 drops Vanilla. Can't wait to get more flavours to experiment with but definitely won't be changing my mainstay.

Hi Spiritdancer and welcome. Sounds like you're getting it all pretty sussed already. Reckon you'll be mixing up potions in no time. The sooner you learn to mix your own the more you'll have to spend on shiny new kit It erks me to spend 3 or 4 quid on a shop bought 10 ml bottle these day when i can make my own for a quid or less. Didn't think anything of it when i first started vaping though as it was so much cheaper than packets of baccy. Guess it's all relative though Yes it does work out a bit expensive, especially if you're like me and want to try as many different flavours as possible. I've so much still to learn but half the fun of it seems to be in the mixing, I'm sure that's what has kept me distracted from smoking. Like you I was used to paying over £17 for 50gr of tobacco which is ridiculous really. Then again I can't see me saving much if anything - every day I see lovely things posted here and always think "Oooh I would love one of those"

As a beginner I've not progressed as far as Protanks yet (to be honest I had to look them up to find out what they are ) If I understand correctly, the Protank is a step up from the ordinary clearos I'm using, much bigger and therefore more suitable for adding more liquid mixes? I'm happy with my V3 Ego for now but maybe in time I'll want to move up. The Protank 2 is a wee bit bigger yes it holds 2.5 ml of liquid whereas your clearomiser probably holds around 1.6 ml or thereabouts, its also a pyrex and stainless steel set up so heavier and all of it comes apart for cleaning and just changing the colour of the glass tank or the drip tips. They also do a mini Protank which holds 1.6 ml - I have 3 minis plus the bigger one. Myepack do both sorts and the version 3 (which is dual coil) at really good prices - the Protank 2 is here: myepack.co.uk/protank-2.html its also worth getting an airflow controller with the Protanks - the one to match that one is here: myepack.co.uk/airflow-control-valve.html if you want to see the relative sizes side by side these are mine: The one on the left is a Protank 2 with an acrylic drip tip that I use with it on a Vision Spinner 2 the middle one is my original starter clearomiser a Smok Aro on an 1100 mAh ego-T and the one on the right is a Protank 2 mini which I changed the tank to a green one and its also on a Spinner 2. Both Protanks also have airflow controllers fitted. The middle one looks most similar to my Vision, but I love the look of the one on the left, that's beautiful, especially with the glass tank rather than plastic. I've already started mixing 3 or 4 juices together (just in a very basic way by adding a few drops of each one at a time lol) and so the extra tank space would be very useful. If there is no coiling and wicking to be done that would be a huge plus for me also, I'm not comfortable with having to do that at all. I think the Protank and Spinner will be my next step. Thank you for sharing the pic and for the description.

Spiritdancer - the 'head' means the atomiser head, the coil and wick bit that vapourises your juice. They have a finite lifespan, even with cleaning and something called 'dry burning' which burns off the carbonised gunk which accumulates on the coil and wick over time; dry burning might get you another couple of weeks from your head, but eventually you will need to discard it (but DON'T throw it away; either you will be intrigued enough to have a go recoiling it yourself, or someone will offer to do it for you!). If you have an empty Protank to hand, unscrew the knurled bottom, just as you would if you were filling with juice. You should then be left with two parts; the glass and steel top section, either with or without removeable driptip, depending on version, and the base section which contains the head. See the thin grooved section which engages inside the chimney of the top section? that's actually the top of the head. Grip and unscrew, and you should have a small atomiser head and the base section which is essentially a disc with a few threads!! This atomiser head is the item which is consumable, and they come in various different ohm ratings (resistance, in other words). A higher resistance (2.0 to 2.8ohm) will use up your battery a bit more quickly, but will give a cooler vape. Lower resistance (1.5 - 2.0 ohm) will enable your battery to last longer between charges but the lack of resistance will mean that more power gets to the coil and heats up more liquid faster. This of course gives more vapour, and sometimes more flavour too, as well as higher TH (Throat Hit). When using Protanks regularly, I used 1.8ohm heads, but now I put microcoils in them myself and work at around 1.3 ohms. This gives a decent enough kick on a mechanical mod where I have no electronics to boost the power for me, relying on the power in the battery. I hope this helps; if not, ask some more questions!! Thank you chykensa, that's a great description that even I can understand. I only started vaping 5 days ago so I've not reached this level yet and I'm not a technical person at all so I prefer to use the disposable clearos for now. I don't have a Protank, all I have is a basic starter kit and a Vision V3 Ego, both have 1.6ml clearos which is a bit small when you want to try out several liquids mixed together, but they suit me for now anyway. Not sure what my next step will be .... probably a Protank with a Spinner or something like that, but only if I don't have to replace coils/wicks etc. Much appreciate the detailed explanation, thank you.

Go to the Help & Contact page via the button on the top panel, near the "My E Bay" button. That should take you to everything you need to submit a report.

clairea - hi and a warm welcome from me too You have already received some good links and help above, so I won't confuse you any more; I'll simply add that the Mini Protank with a Spinner battery will give you a good quality clearomiser (the bit that holds the juice) with a glass tank which will be fine with all juices (some crack the polycarbonate 'plastic' tanks), and the heads are cheap and reliable. The Spinner is a great battery, and also has Variable Voltage so that you can adjust the amount of power going to your coil to suit your needs - a very useful addition! Myepack is a good vendor, and many of us use them with their competitive pricing and fast delivery. Keep asking away, that's what we are here for! Another newbie question - I've been looking at the Protank, but what confuses me is the "heads". My starter kits have battery, charger, clearomiser and mouthpiece. Would you mind explaining what heads are and what is involved in fitting them? I noticed in one review someone said they had to go to Utube to see how to set theirs up so I'm thinking it may be beyond anyone with poor eyesight like me.

Welcome Clairea, others with far more experience than me will no doubt help with recommendations. I have to agree with you on the prefilled cartridges, I started with them and they just seem too mild, even using high strength. I'm now using a V3 Ego and finding it much better. I see where you're coming from on wanting to get away from tobacco altogether, what I do is mix some tobacco liquid (medium/low strength) with another flavour or two. Right now I'm using tobacco, cappuccino and a few drops of vanilla. You could try that, see how you go and maybe increase/decrease the tobacco depending on how you find it. As a smoker of 42 years I don't want to push myself too soon by getting rid of tobacco entirely although that's my long term aim. Likewise with the nicotine, I'm gradually reducing the strength and hopefully I'll eventually be able to cut it out altogether. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Spiritdancer I mix my flavours in my Protank, I've made myself some really great tasting flavours that way and even if I end up with something not so nice I find a bit of menthol or aniseed added to the tank fixes that right up. As a beginner I've not progressed as far as Protanks yet (to be honest I had to look them up to find out what they are ) If I understand correctly, the Protank is a step up from the ordinary clearos I'm using, much bigger and therefore more suitable for adding more liquid mixes?
