From an electrical engineering point of view you would expect the amount of power expended by any coil to affect its longevity in the way you describe.
Other factors like usage patterns and construction materials would also come into play.
The anecdotal evidence above suggests there's not much difference between SR and LR, but to be certain you'd need to conduct a statistically significant number of trials to confidently answer your question with numbers.
In other words don't worry about it, try it out, you can't lose much by giving it a go to see how you get on.

To last longer you need batteries with higher mAh ratings, which aren't difficult to get hold of, and a passthrough system could also extend the time that batteries are out of action due to recharging if you tend to vape in the same place a lot, eg at a desk.
To be honest most 510/Ego batts these days will have a higher rating than 180mAh. 900 or 1100mAh aren't uncommon, but they're physically bigger.

I'm sure you're right, companies will say nearly anything short of outright lies to flog stuff, but I would pay a few quid extra for batteries that last all day.
Not that I know how long these will last, I'll hopefully find out tomorrow.

Which ones have you order Risky? Same ones you listed Karma. I was worried that 1400mAh looks a bit wimpy, when others are 3000mAh etc. I'll try it out and see, but if i can get away with £3 a battery I'll be quite pleased.

Yeah I know but short circuit protection is definitely a plus. I have been known to accidentally launch pints of tea across a room. I'll see how I get on with the ones I've ordered, but I'll be looking for some higher capacity ones I expect.

Must admit I'm not keen on the idea of unprotected batts, a bit of liquid and it could all get nasty. Much happier with s/c protection at the very least, personally.
So what would be a good value protected battery with decent LT running time please?
I have some protected 1400mAh on the way which I expect will be OK for backup.
^Edited for inability to write and make sense at the same time.

It doesn't list its electrical properties, so I don't know offhand. I do know that 0.16mm Nickel Chrome or 0.2mm Kanthal is suitable.

First time ever I don't care how much they put it up. It is a lot though.

Bump and PRICE DROP
To get it out of my face, I will settle for a new, delivered, black Lavatube body only, so the cost could easily be less than £35 for a smart buyer using discount codes etc.
That's 7p per ml, or £2.10 per 30ml
Otherwise I'll probably pour it down the sink because I think it's turning my hair grey. That must be the reason. Other suggestions welcome below.

The last ones I really got into were Patrick O'Brian, Master and Commander and all that, starting with the first and going right through. Brilliant series, and I could easily command a three masted man of war now imo.
The book that makes me feel 18 again, when I first read it, is Breakfast Of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut.
My other favourite book (SF) is Excession by Iain M Banks, I also like a lot of his other stuff. Song Of Stone is a good one, dark though.
I'll have a look at Lee Childs, thanks.

I can't say for sure how the poor thing came to be in that situation It's just what went through my head - where's Mum? We'll never know. I may be wrong about the baboon thing too, if it's from Asia. No offence intended, and I hope none taken.
