I totally agree that the BBC need talented people, but to me it is obscene to pay one person £2.2million. Or to say that he is four times better than other presenters who are paid £500k, which is still an obscene amount to pay someone to sit on a couch. They should have a cap of £200k, like it or leave. Go to ITV, go to Amazon. And to be honest, good luck to them. There will be many standing in line to do the job for £200k. That is still a lot of money to do the job that they do.
I blame the BBC management for allowing such outrageous sums to be paid. I hope the knock on effect of all this will be a reduction across the the board. I'm sure Chris Evans is a very nice person, but he ain't worth paying £2.2million to see on TV or hear on the radio. We need a reality check and think long and hard on what is important in life.

I would also bet my yearly salary that they could get a replacement for Matt Baker and a good looking confident female to take Alex Jones place for less than £100k. Save £600k along the way and reduce my TV licence by a few quid. I'm not even going to say anything about Chris Evans. Totally disgraceful. I think my argument is won on this one. A soldier may get paid £20k, and put him/herself in harms way. Yes they know what they were signing up for, and they don't on the whole need mega qualifications. Pray tell me what academic qualifications Chris Evans, Matt Baker or Alex Jones needed to apply for their job? None I would guess. You are right *-SARIN-* a librarian is probably better academically qualified than those three. I don't agree that they are the best for the job. They had the best managers or agents. I find it funny that those in the industry think that salaries will go up as a result of the revelations. Somehow I thing the opposite will be the result. Or at least I hope so. Personally I would say sack the lot of them and have a competition to replace them. Somehow I think they would find some great talent at a decent price.

Glad it's not just me. I think it's down to numbers. Society seem happy to pay £millions for one TV/Radio star, but baulk at £billions to pay for people putting their life on the line. They only need a few radio presenters, but they need thousands of soldiers and nurses. Strange that they can advertise and get thousands to put their life at risk for £20k yet the BBC think they need to offer £2million to chat about shit on the radio. I'll do it for £80K. Available now.

Am I the only one who thinks the world has gone mad when I look at the pay of some of the so called stars? Personally I feel disgusted reading the figures being quoted. How society values people is beyond me. We seem to be happy to pay £millions to windbags on the radio and those kicking windbags around a lawn, yet deny those who save lives a decent living. Crazy. Yes I understand that they are in a marketplace and they get paid what the market pays, but the market has got it's head in the clouds.

Asvape Cobra Sub Ohm Tank - 3.8mlThis new unit looks very interesting. A decent sized tank, 3.8ml, and sub ohm so lots of cloud potential. And probably my best bit, 0.5ohm replacement coils. Never did get the hang of coiling. So this gets my vote. It is a wide beast being 24mm diameter. Looks good though and comes in a dark or silver colour to suit ones taste. More details HERE24mm diameter and 3.8ml e-liquid capacity Unique Cobra coil e-juice taking in 360° Support 100% VG E-liquid/very thick E-liquid Food grade stainless steel Easy top filling and adjustable bottom airflow Amazing flavor with huge vapor production

My early edition iStick should be worth mega £ soon. Especially as it has a bendy adaptor.

Being totally cynical, I don't think the powers at be want vaping to succeed, but events are being taken out of their control. The numbers are reaching a critical mass that can't be stopped. Vaping allows people to reduce their dependence on nicotine in a controlled way, that tobacco can never do. So vaping for many will be a transient period unlike tobacco which is a lifetime addiction. A lifetime of tax revenue, which governments blue or red have been able rely on. That is being put in jeopardy due to the evil of vaping. HMRC will be thinking long and hard on what to do about vaping. So far they have just got VAT. They will want to replace the millions lost on the reduction of tobacco revenue, that I think is just about as certain as death and taxes as the saying goes. If they can tax dementia, they will certainly tax vaping.

It is a sad state of affairs I agree, and it is always the little guys who lose out. As with anything people will try to push the boundaries of any law with their interpretation, but until the courts give a judgement there will be disagreements on interpretation. It will be a case of who blinks first, and the smaller vendors are bound to blink as they don't have the resources to fight back. Hopefully our exit from the EU will hasten getting rid of these draconian laws, but on that one I'm not holding my breath. Its was the UK government that brought the 2ml tanks size in not the EU TPD That maybe true, but the UK had no choice as we are part of the EU, and were compelled to bring in regulations to enforce TPD and the requirements contained within TPD, as all EU countries have done or are doing. Some more draconian than ours. It is only after we exit the EU that the government have a choice to keep or revoke the regulations. Till then we are stuck with them.

No doubt there is going to be a period of bedding in. It won't be till cases appear in courts and we get some case law that we will know how the law should be interpreted. In the meantime TS will just do as they please. Sadly the smaller B&M stores are going to be bullied by the state as they don't have the deep pockets to fight back.

I remember him from the Saint but not Ivanhoe. A tad before my TV viewing days I think.

I remember him as the Saint. It was a great program toots, but as my name is Bond I remember him best for that. He made a great James Bond, that will never be bettered.
