Oooooh! I thought dual coils were meant to produce a "better" vaping experience as in warmer and producing more vapour?

Thanks for the replies guys! I'm determined to stay off the rollies if at all possible. Actually, psychologically speaking, I'm finding it easier today. Like I said, it's all in the mind and so I'm giving myself a really good stiff talking to! I mean, I'm getting loadsa nicotine right? YES! I'm getting a good throat hit right? YES! I'm seeing loadsa billowy white "smoke" right? YES! So what the **** do I need a rollie for!!!??? I don't!!! I'm surprised that I'm finding it much easier this evening so hopefully my transition to vaping is not going to be as difficult as I'd built it up in my head to be!
Back to matters technical. I'm actually using a Mini Protank 3. Is that as easy/more difficult to recoil than a Protank 2? I think I've got more of a handle on my inhale technique today so I'm feeling more satisfied/confident with the whole vaping experience. Far from over-playing my new shiny toy, I'm actually vaping less than I normally do smoking and I think that's down to really good 24mg nicotine hits.

Atomiser! The bit that sits on your device I thought that was called the "Clearomizer"?

Thanks so much guys (as always) for the advice. On reflection I think you're right - I'm going to go straight for the Istick (and not bother with the Twist/VV). The Istick will be for home use and I'll still use my EVOD2 for out and about. My gut feeling has always been to go for the Istick but I'm still undecided about what to combine it with. Are there any Any Istick users out there who can advise what to stick on top?
Day 2 and still off the stinkies! I have to admit that I'm having a huge pschological battle to stay off the rollies - but it is "all in the mind"! Now that I've got through the first day I know that I can crack this! I would never have done it without the help of this forum. Collectively you/we are "changing lives" (even saving lives) for the better ... and that's an awesome thought!

Glad your getting off to a good start. You might find that a tank with adjustable airflow like the nautilus will give you a nicer draw. Might be worth looking at smokerainbow as they do little testers of liquids for pence. Thanks - I'll deffo check this out!

Hm,I think you should go to a vape meet if there's any around you mikemichelle .You can try different set ups and get some knowledge. Now there's an idea! Does anybody know if there's a Vape Meet in the Bournemouth area?

Forgot to ask about coils. I guess it's a "how long is a piece of string" type question and depends on a number of variables. But is it possible to have a "back of a fag packet" answer to: "How long, on average, does a coil last"?

TRANQUILITY BASE HERE ... THE EVOD HAS LANDED!!! I hope that 20th December 2014 will go down in history as the day I STOPPED SMOKING!!! This morning I set up my EVOD 2 with a mini protank 3 on top, filled it with some e-liquid that two incredibly generous guys on the forum sent me to help me get started (thanks guys). First impressions were quite good although I had to adopt a new inhalation technique compared to conventional smoking. If I tried to inhale the old way, I got hardly anything out of the EVOD. I discovered that you had to inhale quite strongly and hard(ish) and longer straight into the lungs as opposed to drawing into the mouth and then inhaling. This way I got a good throat hit and quite a lot of vapour. On the positive side, I got a good old fashioned bit of a "light head" (which I like) which hasn't happened for many years (like when I first started smoking). Obviously, I have got to try quite a few different e-liquids to find the right ones for me. I've started with "Amber Blend" which is a home brew e-liquid that I got sent. At the moment, I'm keen to try e-liquids that closely resemble the "smoking experience". Who knows what others I might try but I want to stick with "tobacco flavours" to start with. I guess I'd give the EVOD 2/mini protank 3 a 7 out of 10 and the vape experience a 7 out of 10 also so far. After trying a few tobacco falvours, I think I'll try some menthol flavours next. My instinct so far is that I might be better off with a bit more power and am checking out the EVOD Twist Variable Voltage 1600 MAH. I just feel that the EVOD 2 is a tad under-powered for my tastes but I could be wrong. I am so grateful to all you guys in this fabulous forum for all the wonderful help, support and advice. I couldn't do this with out you. I'm off to a positive start and hopefully things will get better. I'll stick with the EVOD 2 for a couple of months, maybe upgrade to the EVOD Twist Variable Voltage 1600 MAH and also maybe the Eleaf Istick and Nautilus Mini tank for the future. I want something more powerful and longer lasting for use at home and will probably use the EVOD 2 (or EVOD Twist Variable Voltage 1600 MAH) when out and about. Last impressions: I would have preferred a bit more "resistance" when "sucking" so that I could vape more like the conventional smoking technique and experience. I guess that's a difference that I'll have to learn to accept as clearly vaping is a different technique to smoking. One again guys ... A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL!!!

Once again guys thanks for all the advice and encouragement! I'm going "live" with my first try on EVOD 2 on Saturday morning - I have to psych myself up to do this! I'm feeling very nervous and apprehensive but if all you long-term smokers can do it then I don't see why I shouldn't succeed also. It's so daft but I'm getting myself worked up in such a state about this!

In simple terms an evod starter kit will contain 1 or 2 batteries along with evod atomisers (they hold liquid). The mini protank 3 is another type of atomiser that will fit on the supplied battery. Don't want to sound condescending, hope this helps, regards, Paul. Thanks Paul and prr! Just what I needed to know! Does it make much difference what capacity it is eg 1.5ml or 3.0ml?

Over 6 months for me now. I found it quite easy to switch to e cigs and like you started with an EVOD 2 starter kit and still using the batteries. On advice from here I bought a Mini protank 3 and that is really good so I have got 3 tanks now as backup Took me a while to find a juice that suited me but thats part of the fun, After spending £50.00+ per week now spending about £6.00. One bit of advice is to always make sure you have your kit and back up with you, people I know whos battery has gone or something else, it is easy to pop in a chop and buy a pack of ciggies Stick with it and good luck Keep looking at the forums - it really does help
Hi bobmcdee. Thanks for the reply/info. About this Mini Protank 3 ... does that fit on on the EVOD 2 Starter Kit? I'm still just getting to grips with the hardware but having googled it, it looks as though it doesn't have a bottom/battery? So please confirm (anyone) is this will fit on the EVOD 2 please?

Thanks so much for all the advice and encouragement guys! I don't think I could/would have done it (ordered starter kit) if I hadn't come across this forum. So big thanks to each and everyone of you. It feels like I've got someone to hold my hand being in this forum and although I'm still waiting for the EVOD to arrive, I certainly feel more positive about giving up the stinkies - more so than I've ever done in my life!

Hi again Guys,
Well I've chewed my fingernails up to the elbows (plus smoked endless rollies) as I wait with bated breath and trembling trepidation for my EVOD 2 Starter Kit to arrive. I've never been able to give up smoking before and I've always thought I was a hopeless, terminal case. The possibility of life without fags has never existed and I'm still trying to imagine that very first suck on the EVOD - and whether it will "feel" real and hit the spot!
I keep reading over some of the inspirational stories and experiences in the forum from those who have "cracked it" and managed the transiton from the stinkies to Vapour World! If I really do manage to break the rollie chains and start life afresh with the EVOD, it will prove 2 things: 1) There is a God and 2) miracles do happen!!!
