I think it was mentioned in the 1947 study that pg acted as a germicide and that was a side that was discovered during the testing. Haven't read the full 70 page study though so only going by what someone else said was in it so maybe that's wrong. Has anyone read the full transcript and can confirm yay or nay.

I fell for the tooth whitening one and posted it up on the MSE forum. Got all my money back eventually and took them to trading standards who eventually made them change their website so it wasn't hidden in small print. I've still got all the standard letters/responses if they'll help anybody. Hate these swindlers whose only intention is to con and mislead - if your product is good, you can sell it legitimately rather than swizzing people into buying it, grrr!

I presume it's about £5.20 for one of these - do they last longer than a normal cartomiser? If so, how frequently should they get a proper clean or is it going to be easier to just bin and get another? Thank you.

Awww, sorry for telling you off Alvoram - see how much better that is, though :-) I've got a Riva too. Mine's in gold and is now almost silver from it pretty much never leaving my hand, ha ha. I'd go with the black if I were to get another, I'd be constantly wiping my mucky paw marks off a white one. I've never used the atomiser/cartridge combo that comes with it though as everyone said how much easier cartomisers were so I've just used them so far (Kanger LR ones) and I'm quite happy with those. I've spilt the odd drop on my hand when refilling but now I have a 'spiky thing' which makes refilling much easier. I just washed it under the tap and it was fine. A spiky thing is an attachment for your bottle of eliquid where you just take the nozzle off and pop that on the top instead - it's got a very pointy nozzle so you can perfectly direct your liquid without it going where it shouldn't. Enjoy your Riva if you do go for one. Can also recommend HS Menthol as an e-liquid which is my all-day vape now after trying a fair few - didn't really like the tobacco ones at all and kept coming back to this one.

Even though it's helpful to read other threads to gain knowledge, it's even more helpful to jump straight in and ask the most basic of questions.
No one e-cig is right for everyone and it's really key to ask questions so that you get the right one for YOU, the right weight, ease of use, the right size, the right battery life, what you smoke at the moment, etc - all of these things will help others to find something that's right for you.
It's been said loads of times and it's 100% true - there's no 'stupid' questions, every question asked and answered will help someone else so please be brave and jump in. Everyone's so friendly and helpful here so go for it :-)

Really glad for you Jacci.

Don't beat yourself up about the analogues, Esme - at all, you just gotta find a better way of smoking and looking at everything on this forum, that takes time. I've got the Riva 1100 and although I haven't tried any other, I don't see how it could be much better, yet, I may change my mind at some point I guess. I've tried it with Kanger LR cartos which were fine but I hated not knowing when/how much to fill it, the Boge SR ones which were awful and crackly and spitty and gurgly and now the CE2 Ultimate Clearomizers which, after one hell of a load of fiddling with, are as great as the Kangars but I can see exactly when I need to fill up and they'll last longer than the cartos.
I think it's all a big, fun, long journey here. Would you like me to send you my spare Riva battery so you can try it out before you think about splashing out on one - the offer's there if you'd like to try it for a few days.
Jo

Ended up finding a cool vid that pretty much takes a clearo to bits so I'm not quite so scared of the things now. Must admit, I really like being able to see what's in there, knowing when to refill, etc. I'm liking these a lot :-)

I've tried about half a dozen menthols now and I keep going back to HS Menthol as it's lovely MrsMac, pm me if you'd like me to send you a bit to try save you buying another and it not being right.

P.S. Vaping from clearomiser is wonderful, great menthol taste, good warmth and quiet again. I is a happy bunny again!
