Ha ha, just had a go at the fourth one, refuse to be beaten! Finally managed to get this out and only did a bit of damage with a computer screwdriver. On closer examination of evil rubber bung thingie, there's already tiny holes in the little fecker and you can just shove the needle tip thing in and fill, it doesn't need to be pulled out at all. Oh my God, all that swearing for nothing :-)

I haven't got one, Perpetua. For the mouthpieces on the Kangers, I was using a little screw thing that screwed in and pulled out but this is too small for that. I've ruined three out of the five now so I'm going to have to put them away. My language is foul here, the air is blue, but I haven't smoked a cigarette which is a minor miracle :-)

I think I'll go back to the Kangers, I can't get used to the constant gurgling and hissing.
I'm stumped with the clearomiser, I can get the rubber bung but I can't get the next bit down out of there for the life of me. Why don't they make these things easier to use or at least give you tools that can remove bits. Have broken paper clips, needles and feel like I've damaged the coil that's showing through the hole. Also, can you just stick the needle tip onto your juice bottle as it didn't come with a syringe. Argh!!!

Awww, thanks guys - reckon it might be the water, definitely need to drink more. Feels a bit better this evening.
Was a bit scared by the carto spitting and hissing at me as the Kangar ones are whisper quiet - getting used to it now. No more sneaking my ecig up to bed though, it is no longer a stealth device :-)
Have got some clearos but I remember Leftfield saying there's something you need to do to them first so will wait until this carto's ready for the bin and spend some time getting it right.
How long do the clearos last, Ken?
Thanks.
Jo

Got a really sore throat and not enjoying the vaping at all for the past 24 hours. Thought it might be time to replace the carto even though it's only been a few days.
My new order arrived of SR Boge cartomisers, which I thought were the same as I'd had before but I went back to my old order and I ordered Kangar LR cartos first time round - why did I do that? ??? I've filled one of the Boge's using the condom method and it's spitting, spluttering and kinda making a roaring noise. I'm guessing that's not normal.
I wonder if the LR cartos are too much of a throat hit for me and have given me this raw throat feeling. I've also switched to low nic now (8mg) - perhaps I may have done that too early.
Sorry for the whinge, feeling a bit sorry for myself.

Another thanks to Jason at Vape Escape. I placed an order with Paradise Vape last Thursday and it still hasn't arrived and I'm about to run out so placed a quick order with Vape Escape yesterday with standard delivery and bang, it's on my doorstep first thing this morning. Fab service as fast is key when there's nicotine involved :-) Really, really impressed with this company!!!!

Had a quick click through - am I getting it right in that this study was carried out in 1947?

Nice one Ali, I've had mine just a bit longer than you and I'm still at the amazed stage.
Can recommend Grizwald's Whisky Cream from Vape Escape - like a smooth baileys in vaping form, perfect for evenings :-)

Wow, nearly two weeks on now and this is still brilliant. Have switched liquids to Griz's Whisky Cream for a bit until my new whacking menthols arrive. Whisky Cream is lovely folks, well worth a go, perfect Baileys taste and ideal for an evening vape.
Feel like I might be having a bit of trouble with my battery though as it totally ran out but then only charged for half an hour until the green light came on - either it's charging really fast which I wouldn't have thought for a battery that big or it's on the way out. Does anyone else have this problem with the Riva 1100.
Still can't believe it's took me so long to discover this - it's way nicer than smoking, will never go back!

Oh wow, just got home and look at all these lovely replies. Thank you everyone so much. I've ordered a few menthols from freedomvape so will give those a go - my hubby has also got menthol crystals somewhere that he bought for shaving??? so can give those a go with my existing sample size bottles until I get my ratios right.
Going to also try the clearos that you recommended, Leftfield, you can guarantee I'll be back on here for lots more advice from you when they arrive.
Thanks again for all the help (and thanks to Johanino for the kind offer of a drip tip :-) - this is a great place to be and I feel far more confident to have a play with things more now.

Hi everyone - found this place after posting on the MoneySavingExpert forum (Green1970) although I'd seen Chrissie before on the UK board of ecf. This place is lovely, far better for people new to vaping from what I can see.
I looked into ecigs after ordering the elites Groupon (I know, I know :-)) and realised I'd made a mistake so ordered the Riva 1100 from vapeescape (thank you Jason, arrived next day!).
Here's my newbie questions which I hope you can help with.
1) I also ordered cartomisers but struggle with removing the white bung thing all the time - can I just order a drip tip and just easily yank that out when I need to.
2) I used to smoke about 15 a day (JPS Menthol or L&B Menthol) so tried HS Menthol which was lovely. I have no clue how often I should be topping up though. I would normally put about 20 drops in in the morning and then another 10 or so drops every few hours once it seemed to taste not so strong. Would a clearomiser be a better idea and just a single day fill-up. Read some cracking stories about the glass so a bit scared.
3) Unfortunately, hated the toffee popcorn with a passion so I don't know how I'm going to get on with flavours. I love a massive menthol hit so can anyone recommend anything stronger than HS Menthol which is nice but I want more menthol.
Have been off the fags since the day it arrived (9 days ago) so doing great so far and have no intention of smoking cigs again, can't believe how much nicer it is than smoking and the fact that I can do it indoors and it's not as bad for my health is just amazing to me. I worry that when the number of vapers starts to overtake the number of smokers, that the government are going to step in and make it unaffordable with less choice so may well stock up big time over the coming months.
Thanks everyone, look forward to being part of the community here.
Jo
