The ones I've been using so far are Boges. Not sure what resistance they are to be honest, as they came with my kit. I'm going to try one of the Kanger cartos this evening that also came with it.

Thanks for the help and comments everyone.
I'm getting a bit more used to it now. I can see that you have to alter your style of "smoking" .. vaping is obviously quite different. Actually it seems to me that vaping is more similiar to pipe or cigar smoking, than cigarette smoking, which is tricky for a fag smoker to get used to. I have taken on board the suggestions, am taking much smaller draws, holding the vapour for a second or two before inhaling, and that does make a difference. Sometimes I don't inhale but just enjoy the taste in my mouth (as you would a cigar.) I'm now getting on with it a LOT better. There's a way to go, but I think I'm getting the hang of this.
Incidentally I took it to my local social club last night, showed the barmen, etc, and they were really good about it and had no problem with me having a puff while sitting drinking my pint. Which was very nice, considering the snow last night!!!!

Are your cartomizers wet enough? You're not burning them are you? Nope, been making sure they're as wet as they can be.

The vapout doesn't have to go into your lungs to get the nicotine hit, the nicotine is absorbed through the membranes in your mouth. Perhaps you don't need to drag on it so deeply? Even a tiny drag is making me cough.

What sort of juices do you have honkeykong? Ry4 (24mg), Grizwald gingerbread (20mg) and Grizwald vanilla tabac (20mg)

Hrrrmmm...
Well, after having a good mess around with it last night, my main concern is that the vapour is so harsh on the throat and chest. All three flavours I have, I can't inhale a decent drag without hacking and coughing. This seems to be defeating the object of replacing the real cigs somewhat.
It's a bit of a shame, as I think but for this I could quite easily stop smoking real cigs (which is the point), but it ain't gonna happen if I can't get a decent lungful without coughing my guts up...

Well, not sure, I'm kind of glad I've got the weekend to mess around with it, and get used to things a bit before I try going a day at work with it....

I've tried the gingerbread... it was quite nice and bit more mellow than the RY4. My favourite so far is the vanilla tabac, it's very nice. URGH now I want to go and order loads more flavours to try... And so it begins.................................. Des, I pretty much decided immediately I had filled my first 3 cartos that I need to order different coloured bungs so I can keep track of flavours!!

I've noticed that already a few days ago I was loving caramel and disapointed by strawberry Ice Cream now they seemed to have switched places. I started off hating 555 then I loved its nuttiness then yesterday I hated it again. Cocomel is my favorite and don't think my feelings about coconut will change Just had a cadburys caramel (actual chocolate not juice ) tasted AMAZING:) Oooohhh I really really want to try a coconut one.

Ok.... I've just had my first vape ever. The Riva with a Boge carto in filled with RY4 juice.
My impression is one of surprise at how much like having a "real" smoke it is. A lot more so than I expected.
Second.. the throat hit is really strong, the first one (a great big lungful) made me cough. Maybe the juice is too strong for me (24mg) or something.
The RY4, I think it does taste a lot like tobacco, yeah, and not a bad one at all. It does have a slightly burnt taste but hopefully that's just normal "warming up" and not that I've knackered the carto.
On the whole I'm very impressed with this.... can't wait to try different flavours..

I can't see the point in this "condom method" tbh.. how is that any easier than just dripping drops into the carto?

OK OK! I won't do the poofy 8 hour charge thing. I have just got home from the pub having had a nice big drink. My cartos are filled. I will charge batteries at work tomorrow and finish at 4pm. So then.... will be my first vape.... let's go.

I've put around 25 - 30 drops in each one, as recommended on the instructions you sent. I'll have a look in them later on and see if they can take a bit of a top-up. Cheers for the free drip tip btw! I am using the Boge cartos to start out, I think it's fair to say I'm going to be doing a lot of vaping this weekend anyway.

It really isn't necessary but I won't push you against the instructions. The carto will perform better after an over night soak but a couple of hours then a top up will also be fine. You must have the patience of a saint It's not patience Blakey, I'm actually just SCARED!
