E Cig newbie

Hi Jaki, I am just annoyed it seemed to be working perfectly, and now is just not doing it. I do wonder if my body is just sucking it all up when I inhale, even though I dont hold it for very long at all, as when I draw on it and blow out the vapour without inhaling it, there is loads of vapour, just no throat hit, no real vapour production after and not satisfying my craving( psychologicaly i think though).

Also wondered if the transfer from smoking real cigs, to smoking e cigs made me healthier and able to inhale deeper and so all the vapour got used up in my lungs, weird I know, but I have been thinking everything today, making my self crazy trying to get it to work.

Rant away Ginger! I can empathise as there are times I feel I get practically nothing from some of my devices.

If you can afford it, I would suggest you get a passthrough from Gary Dibley - because it vapes at 5v you get a really reliable throat hit. Ok, so you need to be constantly 'plugged in' to a usb port (although you can get portable batteries with USB ports too) and it is not really an option when in the pub but you get a great and reliable throat hit that hits the spot when nothing else seems to!

I know that doesn't help you right now, but it may be worth ordering one in case your Tornado has to go back (which is what I would be thinking of doing if I were you)

What did you do with the cone is it on or off the device ??.

If you get more airflow easier to draw on with the cone off - you will also get less throat hit.

Keef, had the cone off, just put it back on and tried, nadda. I think I am just going to have to order a set of spare parts and play around to see if it makes any difference.

Jaki would I order the titan passthru for my tornado, and if so do you know if it is better to get the one with or without the atomiser as I am at my computer a lot and have heard some very good things about them. Found it at liberty flights

May I suggest you keep trying with the cone on - stop dripping and go back to using the pre-filled carts as when you were using the cone and the carts it had throat hit.

Welcome to the not so wonderful side of E-cigs, it really can be a head masher at times.
I've had my tornado's for a couple of days, and not been having the probs you describe. For certain though, having the cone attached does improve its performance noticably.
I'm the master of knackered atties, what i do know is, have a listen, if they make a sizzling/crackling noise, they're working. When the noise drops off, its time for either a clean, or the bin. usually the bin.
Best thing to do is soon as is affordable, stock up on plenty of spares, it makes it a lot easier to find which part isn't working when things don't go as they should.
Today, the my SD was dropping off, new batteries in, the atty was the prob, as changing to a new atty done the trick. Confusingly, the crap atty works fine on my tornado. No rhyme or reason sometimes.

Keef, thank you for all your hard work on my behalf tonight. You are an angel. I have been vaping it a bit now with the cone on it and about 1 in every vape has a throat hit. I am going to try and vape this cart as much as I can and see what happens. Maybe it is the way I inhale it. I started direct inhaling,but then on tips, began holding it in my mouth then inhaling, but I may not be doing that right, hence no throat hit. Will give it a good go tomorrow and be back to report no doubt, lol. x

Thank you for replying Buckowski, I am going to order a whole load of spare parts on payday, in the mean time I think I am going to order a passthru to keep me going in the mean time so I can at least get my fix while playing around with the tornado. Otherwise innocent people (ie boyfriend) may get hurt, lol

I have the garry dibley passthrough and it has been totally reliable. It is made from recycled parts and on another forum they have said it is so tough you could use it as a tow rope LOL

I would be tempted to get something that doesn't rely on your main vaping device as you can have that on charge while using something different.

Ginger I remember well when I started the fiddling and pulling hair out bit.
Its a steep learning curve but it does get easier.

I think your atomisers are most likely ok.
Just make sure the filling in the carts is level with the end and keep them moist.

Someone just reminded me the carts come in different strengths so if you put a zero one in you wont get much of a hit from it if anything.

Keef, just wondering, I got 10 pre filled carts with my kit, 4 high, 3 med, 2 low and 1 zero. I emptied them all, coz I didnt like the taste. Washed the wool stuff and filled with my 18 mg menthol. Are you saying that if I have a zero or low etc cart it will not work as well, as before I had only used the high prefilled ones? I thought they were all the same cart, just had diff strenghts of e juice put in. Please please please say this is the case, as that might be the answer. x

Ignore my last post, stupid blonde moment, now I have emptied all the carts and refilled them with my own ejuice they are all 18 mg. never mind. I do wonder though if the high pre filled carts that came with the kit were higher than 18 mg and switching over to my 18mg menthol might give this result?

Totally Wicked liquid does tend to give good throat hit I can get away with their 11mg stateexpress .

But the pre-filled carts I think are not specially filled for them -
Some liquid does lack substance and hit even in higher mg - for instance RoyalSmokers I did not get any real satisfaction from any of their 18mg juice.

The problem is peoples `tastes vary a lot and also some people dont like harsh vapour and too much hit.
So just because one person loves a particular flavour or brand does not mean every one will.

If you dont start to get it working try the TW Menthol 18mg and see if it does a better job.
