Well done Gilly Hope you ordered some juice as well as their starter kit cartridges don't have juice in them. Don't forget, you can start a thread in here offering any e-cigs/juice for sale & exchange. So if you find you really want to stick with just one of the models, I'm sure someone would buy the other kit off you

Well, my e-cigs arrived this morning - didn't expect them so soon! Put one battery of each (901 and 510) on charge straight away. Later came the fiddly bit - didn't get any pre-filled cartridges so had to fill a blank one. That was a performance - I don't know if I put enough juice in. Then - suck suck (reminded me of those 'fresh air' cigs - were they Craven A? - you had to suck them so hard your eyeballs nearly popped out) reasonable amount of vapour but very little hit so I sucked harder and slower, had a coughing fit and had to rush to the bathroom to throw up. Not a good start! It was the 901 I tried first with an automatic battery. I don't know if it's just that I don't like the juice - VS Defender medium - or if I did something wrong filling it, or not enough battery power or what. There's a slightly plastic taste - I've seen a few people mention that and that it usually wears off quite quickly. I've watched a couple of the videos which are quite helpful, but unfortunately I'm hearing impaired and recorded sound is particularly unintelligible to me - I can't watch TV or DVDs without subtitles and I usually have to get someone else to transcribe answerphone messages for me - so I had to rely on the picture only. If there was any good advice or dire warnings on the voice-over they passed me by completely. Obviously I'll have to persevere but I'm rather less enthusiastic now - throwing up does that to me! Gilly

Hi Gilly OK Throwing up is not the best start You take the primer puff to get it going then a long slow drag count to 4 - hold the vapour in your mouth count to two - then inhail.

So sorry to hear you have had such a bad start Gilly At the moment, the only thing I can think of to add to Keef's advice is to make sure your finger isn't covering the tiny hole in the 901 atomiser. If the hole is covered it stops the air flow which results in the atomiser not working properly. The bad taste you are experiencing may be due to the factory primer on the atomisers. You can get rid of this by blowing through the atomiser from the battery end, while holding a piece of kitchen roll over the other end.

Gilly....it takes time....or at least, it took me time....it's only relatively recently that i've stopped smoking completely and relied on the ecigs..
It was a pleasant taste, but no way as good as my fags at first, it just didn't hit the spot..
it's a different drag technique altogether from cigs, the slower and deeper the better, but just keep using it and you'll probably find that you're using it more & more as time goes on...some people take to it right away, like Foxy, some take longer but end up loving it too, like me...i only really wanted it to use on nightshifts so i wouldn't have to go outside in the dark, but i haven't had a single cig now for nearly a month, but it's taken me 3 months to get to that stage...

Gilly, I'm sorry I missed your early posts - WELCOME! Please take it easy and be "laid back" during your early adventures with your e-cigs - you'll get there It's very easy to put too much or too little juice in the cart - I used a pair of pointy tweezers to squidge the stuffing to make sure the juice soaked right through. But I'm terrible at refilling carts so now I drip 2-3 drops of juice straight into the atty and use an empty cart as mouthpiece - I have to be careful not to flood the atty but if I do it can usually be rescued with much puffing and blowing (yes, both ) and tissuing. That primer stuff is horrid, sorry you got caught out I'm so glad you've got started - keep at it! Don't think you've got to stop the fags right away, just count the ones you DON'T smoke scylla
