Hi Guys
I'm totally new to this e-cig stuff and I'm after some advice your experience on a good starter kit. I'm really up for giving it all a good shot but don't want to get stitched up with something that won't do 'what it says on the tin' i.e by malfunctioning or unable to get good service with supplies and I end up being back on the 'hard stuff'
At 50 something I really feel I need to give it a go as Ive never really tried before. Also any tips for starting out as an e-cig 'virgin' would be gratefully received. As the saying goes 'failing to prepare is preparing to fail'
Many thanks Tony

Hello Tony & welcome I would recommend starting with either a 510 kit or a 901. I'll come back in a minute with some links for you

Here goes Vapor Stations starter kits are extra good value as you get an extra atomiser with them. The atomiser is the part of the e-cig that heats up to produce vapor. Their kits also come with a a manual & an auto battery (1 auto & 2 manuals with the 510) With a manual battery you need to press a button for it to work & that does have it's advantages that I'll explain later. This is their 901 kit www.vaporstation.co.uk/model-detail.php?id=55And their 510 kit. www.vaporstation.co.uk/model-detail.php?id=45However the cartridges that come with their kits are empty, so you would have to buy some juice straight away to fill them. There is also a 5% discount code on any order from Vapor Station - UKVAPERS

I... don't want to get stitched up with something that won't do 'what it says on the tin' i.e by malfunctioning or unable to get good service with supplies I've been trying to think how to reply to you since before Chrissie posted, because of the "stitched up" remark. All the relatively low-cost e-cig gear is manufactured in China to standards that don't entail the highest of quality control, and our UK retailers have to cope with that. The ones we recommend do their best to give us good and reliable service and sort out any problems that crop up, within reason. Having said that, if it weren't for the Chinese manufacturers I'd probably be dead by now You don't have to STOP smoking the minute you get your e-cig - take it easy, be kind to yourself and to the e-cigs, and count every fag you don't smoke, not the ones you do And come and talk to us lots scylla

hi tony, now im going to go against the advice the others have given. i started with 2 901 starter kits and while they were ok,and look like a fag i dont feel you enough vapor or punch from them,so i then opted for a screwdriver mk2 kit costing around £67 with discounts, this is only £20 at most dearer than 2 901 kits. ok they dont look like a fag so when your out you may feel a bit odd looking with the screwdriver, but to be honest it feels odd with the 901s anyway. the screwdriver will be cheaper to use over a 4 month period. ive had the SD for a week and its great. one battery lasts me all day. ragjoy...........

Bang for buck to get you started has to be the Vapor stations 501 starter deal, easily the best value, and with a guarantee, which not all vendors offer. Maybe its just luck, but the pack i got from them, all of the parts work perfectly, unlike my 1st pack from another company, which i had to send 2 parts back. On the downside from VS, how the hell do you get the E-liquid to part company from the bottles they use... anyone have a solution? I've only the 1 bottle from them to try the VS Frost, but as yet, I couldn't tell you how good it is, as i can't get the bottle to let go of its juice lol.

im going to go against the advice the others have given. I agree with you Raggy, lots of us oldies would agree with you - but it takes guts (or something!?) to recommend a large mod to a total newbie. A 901 starter kit is just that - a starter - and by the time it wears out the user will have dipped their toe in and had time to find out about the other stuff without freaking out at the sight of them. Well, that's been my theory, anyway I'm tickled pink you're happy with your SD scylla

Pop the plastic dripper off and decant it into another (better) dripper bottle is about the only thing you can do...i think most ecig sites sell empty bottles...

I would also advise to go with Vapour Stations's kits as they are great value for money: I started with the 901 (VS call it The Stasis) and then tried the 510 (The Versus). Both are excellent for vapour; the 510 (Versus) will give a little more vapour as the atomizers tend to run hotter and the 901 (Stasis) will give perhaps a little more flavour. Portable Charging Cases (PCCs) are available for both, for use 'on the go' if you decide to stick with one of the above models. The Screwdriver is an excellent device but rather expensive for a 'start' especially if you decided 'vaping' isn't for you. Choosing which liquid to buy is, perhaps, too difficult to advise as we don't know which tobacco products you generally use. There are a few reviews HEREwww.oksmokey.com/ (no discount code available but the prices are reasonable especially as a start - I find OKS's prefilled cartridges are pretty good). For some other vendors there are discount codes HEREFox

I will put my money where my mouth is and buy them from you. I'm tailing you, Keef And I can't fault you, that's an offer nobody, surely, could refuse. What are your favourite flowers? scylla x
