I quite expect mine to be deleted also. I'm still so angry that someone in a position to 'guide' others should know so little about e-cigs/liquid nicotine used in them. Outrageous. Fox

It's not just that the professionals are ignorant that I think is the problem but they suppress sharing of information about harm reduction strategies that don't put money into their pharm company sponsors.
They prefer to stay ignorant and keep other people ignorant too, there's no excuse for that.

They prefer to stay ignorant and keep other people ignorant too, there's no excuse for that. Pigdogs. AS I understand it, there's a proposal to market the ghastly Nicorette Inhalator as a 'harm reduction' product so they'll have to do a volte face pdq will they not? As I said previously, the only difference between that gadget and an e-cig is there is no vapour - therefore, I need to see incidences of harm being caused by the vapour, otherwise why is an e-cig not a 'harm reduction product?' I presume the pharmaceutical companies consider their 'encased' cartridges to be harmless and would like to see just one horrible tasting product on the market. How's that going to increase sales for a product intended for long term use? The e-cigarette is for use by adults with the ability to choose for themselves what they wish to ingest and who are not so stupid as to put themselves at risk by misusing eliquid. There has been plenty of time for genuine tests to be carried out on eliquid so why have they not been done on a mass scale? Could it possibly be that they sprung this nonsense on manufacturers/vendors/suppliers at the 'last moment' for a reason? One of the daftest gripes I read is that propylene glycol may cause respiratory infections! Are they kidding? Cigarettes don't? Chest infections can be picked up simply sitting on a bus! If this is the case then wouldn't it be wise to remove all traces of glycol from inhalers/nebulizers used by asthmatics? It seems 'they' believe it's far safer for adults to abuse tobacco to their hearts' content. In an effort to discourage children from smoking, the FDA have banned all flavoured tobacco used in cigarettes with the exception of menthol - great - have they never heard of food flavourings (clove oil for instance). I used to adulterate my tobacco with all sorts of horrors in the flavour department - Olbas Oil for one! Great for clearing a head cold!! Cigars and pipe tobacco have been excluded from this ruling however as all kinds of flavouring has been added to that type of tobacco for ages - probably because it makes it taste better? lol! Fox

Foxy, IMHO it is ALL about the Nicorette Inhalator. The all powerful drug companies just can't stand the competition from the far superior e-cig.

If they want the NI to be used for the long term they'd better get busy improving the quality - the one I had was white plastic with a pen clip on it. The mouthpiece had sharp bits of plastic that had to be filed off before it could be used. It looked absolutely ridiculous and I can't imagine any self-respecting chap being seen dead with it stuck in his mouth! I've heard its appearance referred to in some quite 'rude' terms! Fox

I heard that nicotine use in pesticides is to be phased out by June this year - just the right time to remove nicotine from the Poisons Act I suppose Thanks for vouching for me on the Smokefree Facebook group Chrissie. It might be ok to post there about PVs now, I think making a bit of fuss and righteous indignation can work wonders when somebody is being silly.

You are so welcome Kate. I hesitate sometimes posting elsewhere as I often struggle to find the right words, so I sometimes worry that I'll give the wrong impression. LOl, I know I can ramble away in here merrily with my bad spelling & dreadful grammar without worrying too much as we have such lovely members
