Thanks Foxy Pretty sure from previous posts from Deewal that they are a she but could be wrong of course. I can so understand how they feel, ECF is becoming more & more American every day. Nothing wrong with that apart from the fact that many of the US posters just don't seem to realise that they aren't the only nationality that posts on there.

Chrissie, as I've said ad nauseum, we reserved ( ) British need to make more noise!! Americans have always had a reputation for being insular but t'Internet seems to be changing that slowly but surely - they now know the peasants who live on these wet lil islands have fingers and brains! There are plenty of Americans who post on TW and LF; they know that what happens in the States often reflects on the UK and vice versa and have said so on the forums. There should be far more of a hue and cry about the proposed ban. These e-cigs/EN-I/PV's are, IMHO, miracle devices. To give you just one example; my son's partner has chronic asthma and I've never smoked anywhere near her. Her attacks are terrifying to see and are so bad she now has a machine at home to help her breathe in an emergency. I asked her, with some trepidation, if I could use my e-cig in her house and she agreed. She has had no adverse effect from my vaping at all and has noticed no smell lingering after I've left. She's very honest and would tell me if she had. I don't claim that e-cig vapour is 'harmless' as no one can be 100% sure but, to date, there has not been one single report of harm being caused to anyone (apart from one rather silly person who blew up his device by using batteries incorrectly - there's always one!); nicotine juice, however, was not involved and laboratory rats seem to like it OK even in its raw form. Three months of probably vaping far too much has caused me no problems healthwise, despite covering my hands with juice on a daily basis and getting the odd mouthful. I suffer with bronchial asthma that I've had all my life and which had nothing to do with cigarette smoking although it made my condition much worse. I now breath 100% better and can laugh without collapsing in a wheezing heap! That assures me I'm doing myself no harm by vaping, in fact quite the opposite. Sadly, until 3 months ago I knew absolutely nothing about electronic cigarettes. I remember hearing about them when they first came to the UK but dismissed them as probably being as useless as all the other cessation products I'd tried. Oh how I wish I'd got myself one from the start!! I'm just one of many thousands, possibly millions, who could have given up tobacco a couple of years ago instead of finding the e-cig just as I'm about to lose it again! Gutted! Fox

Foxy's right - - MUCH MORE NOISE NEEDED!!! We need to get failing businesses (since tobacco ban came in )ON BOARD - along with e cig suppliers & make a BIG HUGE fuss - - enough that it makes a "story" IE newsworthy. Lolli, by "keys still mis registering" do you mean you are getting wrong letters/digits etc when you type? (Chrissie - About every 3rd ISH letter I type I have to do several times really hard on keypad. Applies to all letters but not all the time!! SOOOOO frustrates me as I'm a slow one finger typer anyway without added probs !!)

Lolli, it does sound like as Lilac suggested that something like crumbs are stuck under the keys. When your lappy is switched off, turn it upside down, shake it from side to side & also tap the sides all round. Though as Lilac also suggests canned air is the best thing to use.

I heard a Quit Smoking advert on talkSPORT radio this morning - sponsored by Pfizer! Says it all really.

Well I left a comment on that article last night and there's still nothing there so I'm not sure if they're just slow at moderating or if they don't want responses.

I registered to get something on that article and it seems to have worked. This is what I said: The MHRA is proposing to remove the protection of current laws for unlicensed nicotine products (such as the Chemicals (Hazard Information and Packaging for Supply) Regulations 2009, the Poisons Act 1972, CE mark standards and the General Product Safety Regulations 2005) and to bring all nicotine products under the provisions of the Medicines Act 1968, with the exception of all tobacco products (for some reason they choose to exempt tobacco products from safety, efficacy and quality tests). That will mean that non-tobacco nicotine products can only be traded by pharmaceutical companies. The General Product Safety Regulations 2005 state that only 'safe' products are legal to sell and defines 'safe' as: "A “safe product” is any product which under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions of use presents no risk or only the minimum risk compatible with the product’s use and which is consistent with a high level of protection for consumers." Trading Standards officers are currently enforcing this regulation. The MHRA cannot tell me why that level of safety is inadequate and why they will remove this protection from goods that people choose to buy and use as recreational products. I'm not sure they can say how nicotine can even be a medicine at all considering it has no proven benefit other than sustaining addiction. If ecigs ever do get licensed it won't be because NRT works, it will be to boost pharm company profits (they fund the MHRA and lots of other decision makers and researchers involved in the NRT scam). vapersnetwork.org/forum/showthread.php?tid=194&page=1The FDA report has been widely discredited as exaggerated scaremongering, Judge Leon said this about the FDAs attempt to control electronic cigarettes as medical devices: "I am not convinced that the threat to the public interest in general or to third parties in particular is as great as FDA suggests. Together, both Smoking Everywhere and NJOY have already sold hundreds of thousands of electronic cigarettes, yet FDA cites no evidence that those electronic cigarettes have endangered anyone. Nor has FDA cited any evidence that electronic cigarettes are any more an immediate threat to public health and safety than traditional cigarettes, which are readily available to the public." ecf.dcd.uscourts.gov/cgi-bin/show_public_doc?2009cv0771-54If anyone is interested in trying ecigs please do your research, ask enthusiasts on independent forums for recommendations and beware of marketing scams - there are quite a few dodgy traders around. These are great UK forums to find help: ukvapers.com/allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgiFinally, a lot of people were interested in commenting on this article but comments don't seem to be appearing. I've registered as a member in order to try to respond.

I've put a link up to the article Foxy, I won't be surprised if they delete it though, they deleted a couple of other things I posted.
