Am well chuffed Ian, not least because this is my finest culinary achievement todate. That's a pest with your hub . . . although I'm finding RM a bit erratic to say the least with parcel post at the mo. . . sooooooo frustrating when you really, really want summat! Amazing how the bills still get delivered though.

RM is not my favourite company at the mo Ian, as well as a couple of Ebay lash ups they've given me, a couple of weeks ago I posted my Dad's birthday card 1st Class Post one Monday ( his birthday was on the Weds ) it finally arrived on the Friday. > I'm sure you hub will be with you this week, albeit not as soon as it should have been.

Ian - we are both waiting. Am hoping mine comes tomorrow, albeit, only received the dispatched notice this morning, so that may be wishful thinking.
I have never used a cartomiser. How do they differ from a a regular atomiser?

Hi Hanow. It is simply the atty and filling material all in one piece. You just screw it into your device, once filled then vape.I think they are good for when you are on the move as you dont have to refill as often as cartridges. If you make sure you get cartos with a rubber cap you can simply, fill using condom filling method,Pop out little white cap with paper clip or similar leave few mins for juice to distribute, add drip tip and vape.NEVER buy the ones with hard caps as they are not as easy to refill.Once taste fades drip 4-5 drips into the carto, then vape again. When performance significantlly worsens, buil and re-use again.I love cartos lately as they are lasting me MUCH longer than any atty ive had in a while.I find the vape is also superior to an atty.OR they are perfect for backup when you lose alot of atties.I would say that the major problem is that they DO drink up alot of juice.Apart from that as long as you dont vape it dry and keep it topped up you should have no problems.Cheaper than attys to,James at Paradise Vape sells really good ones, only £4.50 for 5.BARGAIN,get some to try.

Thanks Ian - but (coughs... ermmm..... blushes a bit ) what is the 'condom filling' method? :-[ Or shouldn't I ask? I watched one of the video demos that Scylla posted somewhere (thanks Scylla) but - dare I say it - not a condom (or similar) in sight! I do have a drip feeder thingy-me-bob, but haven't used it yet. I shall order some from James.

Hanow - cartomisers come with a protective silicone "cup" (more like a handle-less mug, actually) on each end. The cup on one end has a central spike (either attached or loose) internally which pokes up thru the hole in the carto's mouth-end cap; the cup on the other end is plain, and that's the one you use to fill the carto. If you don't want to count drips, for first-time filling of a non-prefilled carto, fill the cup two-thirds full with juice and gently lower the screw-end of the carto into it, stopping now and then, and I turn the combo upside down and swirl it about a bit in the hope that I'm getting the juice to soak in; then turn back the "right way up" with the cup at the bottom and push the carto further down into it to absorb more juice. With a new carto you may want to have another go the other end before removing the cap (which you would do if you're going to use a drip-tip). It's trial and error, you'll know once you get your hands on a carto. I also remove the mouth-end cap and drip around the inside rim, allowing juice to soak down into the stuffing, being careful not to drip down the centre. It all depends which compartment of my "brain" is operative at the time. I've had two types of carto mouth-end caps (NOT cups!) - the one-piece rubbery type, and the two-piece which has an inner ring and an outer hard plastic cap with a hole in it. I don't find difficulty in removing either type by poking my pointy tweezers thru the central hole (not too far) and levering off the cap. There seems to be a third type which I haven't come across, where the mouth-end cap is actually stuck on ??? scylla x

Fair play scylla.I have never yet come across a cap yet with this pointy endy bit actually staying in the cap.It usually comes out of the cap once i remove the carto.Your way sounds more complex to mine, but i do know there are very many different methods.I only passed on what is working well for me.I aways fill mine cap end into the condom coz have done it battery end in past,a fair few times and find it does not work as well as doing it cap end. Also battery end never seems to absorb all juice out of cap where as my way it does.As i say i know we all do it differently,BUT my way does HONESTLY work or i would not pass it on to others.

I know im not as good with passing on the info as you scylla, lol,i also agree that your method is the standard way that most people use to fill these things. So Hanow you should maybe do it Scylla's way to get used to it.BUT i assure you Hanow that my way will also work. And yes, sorry i neglected to say that you can just three quater fill cap without counting drips.I think that 16 drops works perfect, thats only reason i try to stick at that. And also to avoid that centre hole and drip around the rim. Thanks Scylla for clearing up all my neglected to mention points.Hope that you dont think that im trying to be a know it all,im not.Im only suggesting a far more hassle free method that DOES and WILL work for everyone.lol,im all for time saving and making things easy.

{{{Ian}}} I fill my cartos all sorts of ways, the only consistent thing about my various methods is that they all involve me spilling juice all over the place The more expensive cartos that I've bought have had the "fixed spike" inside the condom; the cheaper ones have had a "free spike". Quite meaningless though. When I was typing my last post above I found myself going into lots of detail kinda clarifying it in my mind - I get carried away I think it's a good idea to have lots of different methods so that peeps can choose what suits them I am a persistent newbie, even after 2 years of vaping scylla x
