Lol all! It's quite fascinating how our threads 'diversify' Fingers crossed 'symptoms' don't resurface Lilac, blummimg nuisance they are. Therein lies one of the differences between the sexes I suspect Jerry, as I'm sure if a chappie type thing was being discussed, us wummin could offer loads of input!

I have been surrounded by women all of my life. My mother, sister, her three daughters. Some subjects (like this one) are best left to the women to discuss.

I'm back. Can we change the subject to severe heartburn? Was going to take a ginger capsule but I've only ever taken one single one before and it nearly set my stomach on fire Just re-read the instructions and it says "do not take on an empty stomach", hmmm. So I've had the buttered crust of a freshly baked loaf, but am still too scared to take the ginger scylla

I was wondering what you were doing up this late, Scylla. Try some water or an antacid.

I've been drinking water for hours. Couldn't even find any bicarbonate of soda Probably used it up on my teapot. Have just cut open a ginger capsule and mixed a bit of the gel with water and drunk it - burning oesophagus immediately but it's easing. OMG, just put a gingery finger in my eye... gonna get away with it though, just a brief sting Baw...ring scylla

I'm glad that it's helping, although I would have thought that ginger would only make it worse, that shows what I know. lol.
When I have heartburn, I use a liquid antacid, that takes care of it very quickly.
I just have to remember to go easy on the peperoni pizza. lol.

Ginger is great for nausea, either taken as a tea or rubbed on the solar plexus. Hadn't heard of it being used for heartburn tho.. Maybe peppermint tea might be more soothing? Lynda

I thought milk was the answer to heartburn.
Anyone got any cures for me? I feel rubbish, the cold is not helping but in general I just feel crap. For years now I have suffered from depression and anxiety, I am on citalopram for this and in general all is OK. What is really getting to me though is the tiredness, I get really really tired, I have had blood test after blood test and all is normal. I know that excersise helps with depression but hey when you feel pooped all the time then that is a lil difficult to do. I accept that the depression is part of the joy of being me, I just wanna moan lol..

Lisa, Have you tried CBT? If you haven't then Google IAPT or IAPS. (Improving Access to Psychological Treatment/Services) The government is throwing money into it and I would be very surprised if your PCT weren't offering it. It is proving to be very effective in helping treat depression/anxiety disorders. A gp referral is all that's needed and it gives you tools to regain control of your feelings. Lynda

Yeah a long time ago i tried CBT. I didn't like the woman therapist though ! I did get some good advice from her however. What is a PCT? I can't think of the proper name for it now, but a friend on mine taught me "tapping", do you know what that is? I used that for a while and I think it helped in certain situations. It's not so much the depression now, over that past 2 years I have been the happiest for a long time, and I just accept that I have depression and always will, maybe I am wrong to think that way, but I do!! It is the tiredness. I call it "the flops" hey I said "FLOPS" haha.

Primary care trust. Lisa, it might well be worth asking if it's available in your area. If you want to tell me the area you live in then I'll look it up for you. Having a good relationship with your therapist is key. The service here in Southampton is offered over the phone. I work in in-patient mental health services here but accessed IAPS earlier in the year for myself. It was immensely helpful. Let me know if you want me to find out more for your area. Anxiety sucks!! Lisa, I'd never have guessed you were "one of us" because you're so bright and alert I don't think I'm depressed, just a miserable, tired person who reacts to negative situations too easily Regarding where we met, some of us met originally thru the eBay Q&A thread about e-cigs and Chrissie set up the eBay group. Some of the others were already members of eBay groups together but I wasn't. Then eBay banned e-cigs so Chrissie set up this board for us to migrate to. I went to a therapist for years and years but it seemed like I was theraping him a lot of the time. Then the practice put their foot down because they had such a long waiting list and I wasn't "changing". At least it used to get me out once a week, now I'm a total hermit scylla
