Hello all :0) Well I am truely a convert to e-cigs. Ive become a bit of a junkie looking at tons of forums and reading up on everything I can about this whole new way of smoking. Firstly I really really have to say a big thank you (again) for the advice to get a Tornado. Ive been reading loads of peoples first attempts dont go too well because they havent got the right model and ending up spending more than they wanted to to get a good version. I feel like I struck gold with the advice I recieved here. Today is the second full day without a proper cigarette. For the first few days I had about 10 a day because I didnt quite trust the e-cig to work but I quickly found I wasnt enjoying them as much as vaping (but because I had a packet lying there they got smoked). Now no cigs in the house and no plans to buy any. Now to some questions. I am thinking of buying another starter set so I have a full back up if anythin goes wrong. I was looking at the Riva 901 from Liberty Flights as its a differint model so I could see the differince. Would you say thats a good one to go for? Or should I get a 501 like I have? I have ordered a few bottles of juice from James and cant wait ti try them but Im not sure if I am using too much of what I have at the moment. I have the 11mg from TW and today I have found Im a little fuzzy at times. I used to smoke between 20-30 Richmond menthol a day so I thought if anything I would need a higher hit. Most of the stuff I ordered from James is the med (12-18mg) so I hope that will be ok. I have got about 3/4 of the TW 30ml bottle left and have used it everyday since Wed even though only exclusively since yesterday. I really like the feeling of vaping and was wondering if I sould get some 0% nic juice so I can just go mad. Has anyone tried it? Does it vape well? Also Im still a bit unsure as to when to fill up. Im changing between dripping and using a cartomiser. I tend to lose flavour after a few vapes but still have loads and loads of vapour. Im using a menthol juice if that makes any differince. Thanks so much :0)

Am so pleased you're getting on so well, Wotsit Re getting backup - very very good idea, you never know with this gear whether something might suddenly conk out - it's a cross we have to bear. For that reason it's best to have interchangeable pieces, so if you do decide to go for the 901 version (that will give you a try-out of 901 atties for one thing) then you should buy adapters so that you can use everything with everything else - get: 1 x 901>510 1 x 510>901 Juice strength - you can dilute it with Vegetable Glycerine (VG) bought very cheaply from the supermarket baking section or from a chemist. It's common to overdo vaping - well, it is with me It's so pleasurable. I'll leave it for now and see if I've left anything out. Oh yes, 0% juice - available from nearly all sellers but I've never tried it - James will have sample sizes you could try next time. You could try the VG with flavouring added, never tried that either. You can add vodka or water to thin it down a bit. VG gives lots of vapour. TW do Lorann flavourings, I didn't get on with them but I think my tasters have been killed. James will have some when he gets back from the US (am not sure what current stock is). scylla

Hi - I'm a bit out of touch with the new e-cigs - as I still use the one I started with 2 years ago. I'm sure someone will correct me if this won't work with what you've got - but I "water down" my juice by using glycerine. You can buy bottles of it from the local chemist about 100ml for about £1.20ish. It is much the same as the base used for the juice - and gives loads of vape. It is a little more viscose - so you do need a tiny drop of pure water or something - but it gives loads of vapour and it cheap. I mix the juices I buy - and use about half glycerine to half bought juice - this obviously reduces the nicotine % - and slightly dilutes the flavour. Though I do add lorann chocolate to my mixture - so that I get my own favoured flavour - and am happy with it.

Syclla - Brillant :0) I havent heard of the converters...I go and investigate now. The more I read the less confussed I seem to get. A couple of days ago this would all have been crazy talk ) Fishinahat - Tomorrow I will see if I can track this down. Do you know if any of the supermarket flaourings can be used? Like the pepermint maybe?

Brilliant advice from both Scylla & Fish I know so many others prefer the 510 but I always find it hard to recommend as for me the 901 gives such a better draw - so go for it Wotsit as Scylla says, if you find you don't like it you haven't lost much as you can buy an adapter for a a couple of quid or you could advertise the kit for sale/swap in our classified section Lol, even though things can conk out they still last a heck of a lot longer than a pack of real cigs

It seems a long time since flavourings were discussed here in any depth - someone with a better memory will have to tell you about that scylla

Lol, even though things can conk out they still last a heck of a lot longer than a pack of real cigs Too right! I cant wait to see the money stacking up. I am going to do my best and try not to go buying crazy. I want a working kit and one in reserve for when it gets borked. And somenice flavours of the juice so its a nice experince and I'm not tempted to go back to the proper fags. But no more than that. I dont need draw fulls of everything even though its tempting. I do tend to get carried away with a new "thing" but the whole point of this is basically money saving so good I must be. Im surprised at how much I like the vaping rather than the nic hit. I wonder if I could end up with no nic juice and still be happy? That thought makes me giddy with joy that Im even thinking of the possibility after only two full days off fags (even if it doesnt work out that way)!

(((Wotsit))) it sounds like you are doing so well And yes, you may find you don't need the nic at all. For so many people it's the soothing habit of smoking that's is so hard to give up - & that's the beauty of e-cigs. I've not gone that overboard in buying different models. Started off with a super-mini 2 & a half years ago, then went for a DSE901 6 months later. Next bought an SD (plus another at a later date). But now just use my GG's & Garry Dibley Passthru. Lol, OK that is a fair few but I just can't see me ever needing to buy any other new models

The reason I am trying to be good is that I spent the afternoon looking at tons of e-cigs picking out my next ten to buy, and a trillion flavor liquids, and one of everything eles. Thank God I dont get paid for a while because I would be seriously skint now. I think I have a bit of an addictive personality (hello cigarettes).
Thanks (huge big grin) I really do feel like I am doing well. I am so surprised at how well its working. I wish I had taken the plunge ages ago. I agree that its the action of smoking and not the nicotine thing for me anyway. When I tried to give up with the inhalators I was dying for that exhale of smoke. I felt if there was a way I could get that then everything would be perfect. I used to cadge a cig and it would taste like hell but I loved that exhale. And now as if by magic Ive got it. I defo like the exhale and flavor way more than wanting a nicotine fix so I hope 0% will work for chain vaping (its so so nice) and then a nic fix when I need it like I would with a regular cigarette. Thanks again for all the help. You have really made a confussing thing very simple :0)))))

Wotsit, I think we are all here cos we all have addictive natures, so you are not alone Yes, there really is something so specially about the exhale -even more than the inhale.

I hope 0% will work for chain vaping (its so so nice) and then a nic fix when I need it like I would with a regular cigarette. Sounds good! But just don't pressurise yourself - think of all the poison you are not taking in, even if you were on the highest nic When we started there were only about 3 models that were easily available and they were fairly similar - I can see how confusing it must be for newbies now, you seem to have been so sensible in your approach. As for addictive personality - join the club scylla

Hi wotsit...you're doing GREAT when you save some more pennies after getting your back up device (and i also think the 901 is a good idea, then you can try both atties to see which you prefer) and to my knowledge, no-one else in here has tried the Riva 901 model yet, so you can evaluate it for us ) you might want to consider buying a mod, which is basically just a bigger ecig which takes much longer lasting, cheaper batteries...then you'll really get addicted, lol Am sitting here trying to talk myself out of buying a Megaladon sleeve and the V2 head/switch I don't need it, but i want it It would mean i could use the 18650 batteries.....i could go camping n everything ???

Wotsit - if you are addicted to the exhale - you need to track down some glycerine. It produces clouds of vapour..... I buy mine in my local chemist - just off the shelf - though many people buy it in supermarkets. Make sure you are getting 100% glycerine without additives..... As for flavours - you can buy them in the juices - or buy separately (for example the Lorann range - designed as food flavourings). Be careful to avoid the ones based on oils - as they can clog up your atomisers..... Some suppliers do little multi-packs of different flavour juices to sample - and those are a good idea. You don't want to get stuck with 30ml of juice in a flavour you hate.

Delighted to hear you're doing so well Wot! Fabulous things these ecigs!!! As Fish says, avoid any supermarket flavourings that are oil based . . . I understand that Tesco do a Finest range of non oil flavours . . . they do tend to be less concentrated than the ranges you can get from ecig suppliers so you may need more in your mix. O and welcome to the ecig shopaholic club!
