Aldo, when I was eight years old, my family moved to Cumberland, Rhode Island, where I still live. That's when he and I became friends. His father came from the Madeira Islands. There are a lot of Portuguese here and I had many friends of Portuguese descent.
One, who was old enough to be my grandfather told me, over a bottle of home made wine that we shared, that he grew up in a small fishing village on the coast of Portugal. I don't know what village though.
Yes, the Portuguese are very nice people and I fondly remember Linguica, pickled cod, the grapevines and the smell and taste of homemade wine, that the "old folks" used to make.
P.S. Aldo, he is more of a brother than a friend. He lives in California now but we keep in touch.

well, you mentioned some of the most famous characteristics of Portugal ! have you ever tried Port Wine? I asked James to try and make a juice that tastes like it but didn't get an answer yet ! o0 My godmother lived in Madeira Island too... I live near Porto in the north! Amarante is the name of my village and it was the place my english teacher chose to open an institute! But he is from Bornmouth(I think this is the way it spells), south England ! I never met anyone from the US (where I believe RY is) though 0o

Aldo, I don't know what you mean by "RY". I have tried many types of wine, so I probably have tried Port. I don't touch alcohol anymore, I haven't in over 30 years, so my memory is a bit faded. LOL

I adore the very first couple of Dyland albums. My ex-husband indoctrinated me with them. When I first heard Pretty Peggy-O I was gobsmacked by his vocal acrobatics but listening to it now it doesn't have the same impact. There are loads of others I could go on about. Some very simple romantic ones, like Baby Let Me Follow You Down, Don't Think Twice, It's All Right... Are there only cover versions of Dylan on YouTube? I love I Can Help by Billy Swan because it's "just a bloke" singing, and the backing is great, and I love the ending: scylla

Just a slow melodious one (Did I mention I like slow music) I say you should give the music time to touch your heart...
