MM, This is going to be a very expensive fried egg! Maybe you should just find a good greasy spoon....

Hi Jerry, Yes, that is a bit too big for what I want. But thank you for trying.
I have had a very nice reply from the seller of Lynda's link ( Scyll's eBay link). The measurements are 30cm wide 35cm length 7cm high. Still a bit too big really, but I will think about it tomorrow. Seems a reasonable price considering what it can do.
Lynda #60 I would happily use a greasy spoon but they are all too sanitised these days!!
Thanks all. Back tomorrow. Luv MM xxx

Well, my Induction Hob arrived today!! A bit bigger than I would've liked, but I knew the measurements. It's very compact so easy to move. So today I had to buy a frying pan to use on it!! Had a look aroound, then realised they had to be suitable for an induction hob - a lot were not, but only said so at the end of a load of blurb!! It should arrive tomorrow. This is going to be a very expensive fried egg!! Will probably have one and then go off 'em!! MM

Well, yes, it will be a very expensive fried egg - but if your slow cooker breaks down you can but a casserole (inductionable of course) on your new hob on a very low heat and set the timer and not worry about it I do hope your hob is a goody, MM - I don't think we could have done any better for anywhere near the price scylla xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Eggs or no eggs, the induction stove will give you more cooking options, MM. Jerry

I went on the MSE site and saw a thread about a book, the takeaway secret so I bought one, for a basic curry sauce it take over an hour..OMG takes 2 minutes for order over the phone :-)

My new induction frying pan has arrived!!! It is smaller than I expected but that is good. It's a little bit heavy but then I am a little bit weak!! Now all I need is EGGS!! Will get some on Wednesday, if not before. Don't feel like going down and up 31 stairs just for an egg!! Watch this space........ MM

Darn it, MM, couldn't you have had an egg in the pantry to save my tenterhooks? > We used to have a pantry in the good old days *sigh* Don't know what you'll be frying in, but rapeseed (euphemistically "canola" to our US pals) is the best for everyday use, high in monounsaturates and nearly as healthy as olive oil and with a higher burning point. Sainsbury's and Tesco's "vegetable oil" is 100% rapeseed, probably other supermarkets' too if you read the small print. Also, it doesn't stink like "vegetable oil" used to, gawd it was horrid, my neighbour used to use it in the 70s, she'd been to catering college and that's what they taught them before the days of Delia and her descendants Oops, I've gone off on one again scylla

Never has a fried egg been so eagerly awaited. The world is watching and waiting, holding it's breath, anticipating the 5 star review that we are hoping for. Can't you cadge an egg from a neighbour? I can't stand the tension!
