I bought my eldest a wee 510 bout a year ago, but he ended up giving me it back, he wasn't that interested... A week ago he phoned me and asked if i still had it, i said i'd given it to a friend at work but i could fix him up with something better, so he came round yesterday and i gave him a Tornado....i let him try an ordinary atty, an LR one, a carto and a TW mega carto, he decided he liked the mega carto best, so went home with the one i mangled to fit on a mod, a 5ml cigar sample in high which he really liked, a couple of carts, some foam and a syringe to refill the mega carto's... he texted me this morning to tell me he was having a cig, his 1st since 4pm yesterday, when he left mine.... he came round earlier, and hadn't had any more cigs, so as a reward i gave him a pack of the mega carto's, 2 LR atties and a try of my passthrough, which made him cough  just hope he sticks with it... |

Great stuff , he's doing better than me already ..............but then im sure ive smoked longer than he's lived............thats my excuse anyway !

In the short time I have been vaping I think I have converted a good few people too. I think seeing it in the flesh is much more appealing than just reading about it.

I wonder if it has anything to do with new ex-smokers? I prob wont phrase this right but you know when someone has given up with nic replacement stuff or gone cold turkey and been sucessful they can say its not too hard and if they can do it anyone can? And then you try it and its ten times hell and back to the fags you go. You begin to think that other folks are less addicted or have stronger will power or really really wanted to give up in the first place.
Then you see an ecig in the sunday papers ot Betterwear catalogue and think here we go again this wont work either.
And then, then you try it and surprise the heck out of yourself and wonder why it took you so long totry them out. I think when you have know someone in the flesh who has gone through all this it can cut out all the dithering :0)
Yep its a ramble.

Wotsit,i'd say thats exactly right.....i saw the original 'i quit with e-cigs' thread on Ebay and went out of my way to avoid reading it as i couldn't stand the thought of failing to quit again. When the second thread started up my curiosity got the better of me and thats when i really started to get interested.....i think if i'd actually been able to see and try someones in the beginning my ticker would have an extra 6 months on it.
Congrats to Lilacs son...well done lad.

I also think you are so right Wotsit It will be 3 years ago this July that I first "saw" an e-cig being vaped. It was on a local TV news programme. They where filming in a pub (in Devon I think) just a year after the smoking ban. There where all these folks sitting round a table Plus the landlord behind the bar & they all appeared to be smoking. They then did a close up of one of the "smokers" demonstrating his e-cig. OK I know that's not quite the same as actually seeing it in the flesh but it still made me google them (very little info or models back then). Placed my order next day for a super-mini from Pillbox38 (he had just started selling them on eBay), & the rest is history |
