Welcome Davey Im on 5 months now and never craved in all that time except once .
The mistake I made was looking for a liquid that was like a cig THERE ISNT ONE !
So look for one you like , start off high nicotine 36 if you think so , then work down , it worked for me .
Also I must say I feel like im cheating from 40-50 per day to nothing & loving it , not missing them at all ( smoked for over 40 years )

Great news Davey.

If it was me, I'd get cracking with it ASAP. If you are serious about Christmas day, then if you wait until then and feel the urge to smoke, you're going to feel disappointed in yourself, maybe..?

I found it hard to quit the early morning and late night smokes.

From what I remember, you might need to build up the confidence that you can do it. I didn't believe it at first, but it came in time. Then one day, it was like leaping off a cliff and flying.

As everyone says, it might take days, or maybe weeks. You may find you have the odd fag for ages. Everyone's different.

I was around a 12-15 a day smoker and found it pretty easy........ but everyone is different........... but dont worry if you cant stop immediately

Just think of it as switching brands rather than giving up. Sure you will find the transition as easy as the rest of us and in no time at all the smell/taste of analogues will repulse you. Best of luck and happy Christmas

Welcome Davey, and why wait!? I initially bought my starter kit to cut down on the ciggies during the day.
I tried it on the morning of 14th September 2012 and have only had one fag since (and it was horrible!).
Get it out of its case, and get vaping mate, you'll not regret it at all!
The juice strengths should do the trick nicely, and if you start on it now, by Christmas Day you will have ironed out any problems you may have initially, thanks to this forum!, and will be able to really enjoy the day in a cloud of steam!!

Only one more day to go now until I'm allowed to unwrap my new pressie......I've got a total of 29 different flavour juices to get through as well all 5ml bottles , surely from that lot I'll be able to find a favourite....
Tomorrow can't come soon enough if I'm honest.....

Hi all....
Well let me start first of all by saying it's almost the end of the day and I haven't had a single ciggie at all even through all the stresses christmas day with twin girls brings with it so that's got to be a good thing
So anyway onto the whole vaping thing....As I originally stated my "kit" is two ego-c 650 batteries and after using for the first time today the light has just turned from blue to red on the one I have been using so I presume this is normal on this kind of battery ?
I've tried out three or four of my different juices and I'm enjoying them especially "gummy-bear" flavour , anyway when I press the button is the gurgling/crackling sound supposed to be there ?
Also when I take a drag I appear to have to "suck" really quite hard to get any sort of hit and also when doing so I can hear loads of air coming from sort of the top of the clearomiser , drip tip kind of area so am wondering also is this totally normal as well ?
The four clearomisers with the kit are all of the ce-4 type so am I right in thinking that these are of the "throw-away" type and cannot be cleaned as I don't seem to be able to unscrew them at any point ?
Probably getting ahead of myself here but when these are all finished with and I have to invest in new ones would I be wise in going for the vivi nova type clearo with the spare changeable and cleanable heads that many on here seem to be fond of ?
Overall though in summary I'm absolutely delighted and thrilled to bits so far but like I say it's only day one !!
Hope you can answer some of them queries.....

Firstsly the gurgling is liquid down the centre tube. Take it off the battery and blow through. The crackiling sound is a healthy cartomiser doing its business. If these are not rebuildable clearomisers, run under a warm water flow to clean and leave to dry. You're doing well - keep with it. I haven't looked backin my brief usage.

The crackling sound is good - means the coil is heating up the juice.

I'm mainly a cartomiser fan - so cheap & cheerful. But just tried a Nova STV today & it's pretty good

If one 650 battery has lasted you most of one day then that seems fairly normal to me.

Throat hit depends on a lot of things so it is hard to advise. It can vary with the juice - higher nic level increases throat hit, PG gives a bit more than VG. It also depends on how you draw on the clearo. Try pulling in some air at the same time as the vapour; or sucking the vapour into your mouth and then taking your mouth away and do a sharp intake of air into your lungs.

You shouldn't have to suck that hard though. Maybe a different clearo would suit you better.

I'm a Nova user myself, but I think that whether or not you can replace the heads on a CE4 depends on which version you have.

If you can't replace them on yours then yes, I'd certainly think about getting a mini nova (the full size looks a bit silly on an ego). You can get CE4 or CE5 with replaceable and rebuildable heads, but some people think that the CEs tend to mute the flavour, and Nova heads are generally reckoned to be easier to rebuild, which if you don't mind doing things which are a bit fiddly you might want to do eventually (it is pretty easy and a lot cheaper).

If you do get a nova, get it from a good supplier - there are some bad versions about. I get mine from VapeEscape, but I am sure that there are other reliable people.
