Hi all....
New today to the forum but have done plenty reading of the threads to gain research before ordering my starter kit which arrived in the post today....
I went for the CE-4 traveller kit from vapourworld.co.uk which includes two 650amh batteries , 4 CE-4 clearomisers , usb and mains charger , empty bottle and a 5ml sample of popcorn e-juice and a nice case....
Also arrivied today were 10 5ml Griswalds juices from vape escape.co.uk and 8 5ml juices from paradise vape.co.uk...
I promised myself and the wife that I'd pack in the analogues on christmas day this year and I'm hoping that once I start to vape then that will be bye bye to the nasty weed.....
I've charged up both the batteries and I'm so tempted to give it a go right now but like I say I've given myself a date so I'm gonna stick to it , only 7 days to go now after-all.....
Just wondering how easy did people find it to make the switch ?

It really takes away the desire for a fag, most of the time. Sometimes I regress and have rollie but it tastes orrible

Personally, I'd give your kit a quick try now It's not unusual to do a bit of both in the early days of getting used to vaping! Once you get the hang of it and iron out any teething problems then the switch is easy. Until that point, count the ciggies you don't smoke, not the ones you do

It's a good starter kit you have there, I am sure you'll be happy with it.

First off don't put yourself under too much pressure, many people start and have the odd stinkie or 2 as well as vaping.

My take on things are if you try vaping and find a juice you like the taste of and feel you can stop the stinkies then do.

I think the vape escape samplers are 12mg nicotine, try these if you still feel the urge for extra nicotine get some 24mg, you can always reduce your nicotine level slowly later. I was bown to 8 - 12mg but found I almost chain vaped. I have gone back up to about 20mg and now vape much less.

Hi and welcome I took about a month to get from smoking 20 a day to cutting them out completely - and that was with one of those silly little cig-a-like kits, so you've already got an advantage by having some decent kit.

What worked for me - and it might not be for everyone - was NOT setting a definitive date. It just adds extra pressure. I started by using the e-cig alternately with cigs and gradually made the changeover. I'm almost at 4 months smoke free

You'll pretty soon work out if you can do it straightaway or if you need some time to changeover, either way you'll get there, just try not to put too much pressure on yourself. I just wish I'd discovered this place sooner - I'd tried every way there is of quitting at least once with no luck, but this has been so easy I'm still pinching myself

It took me a couple of weeks to switch over completely to ecigs, I just woke up one morning and didn't instantly crave that first cig of the day, after that moment for me, it was pretty much plain sailing.

But there was no plan at all . . . .

i bought my 1st kit to cut down ready for stoptober in 2cnd week of september tried it and only smoked 1 more rollie in 1st 2 days,i personally found it so very easy after the failed attempts with patches ,inhalators and gum during previous 3 years.
nice 1st kit too!,wish i had of, i spent a fair bit on tat 1st til i found this forum

Don't put any pressure on yourself by naming the day. Just try it asap and see what you think.

I bought a kit back in July after researching this forum in particular, and when it came, I thought the same, I'll try it tomorrow or whenever, cos I've got it now so I know I can give up anytime, not really believing it. Like when you buy a book on some subject and because it's on the bookshelf you think you know it, but you haven't even read it.

Anyway, I wasn't looking to give up completely, just wanted to cut down. So, no pressure, I tried it straight away and have not thought about a fag since that first session. I still have that half packet of fags in a drawer, not as safeguard but more a reminder of my folly for so many years.

I may have been lucky but you won't know until you try. Today I've just realised it is my 5 month anniversary, the fags are still there, and I've saved £££'s without feeling I've given anything up.

Many many thanks for the replies from you lovely people , oh and how quick you've responded , that's great.....
The Griswalds are 20mg and the ones from the other site are 18mg.....
Wouldn't say I'm a particularly heavy smoker right now roughly 15 a day I would imagine , I'm hoping the strenghts of juices I've chosen are gonna be fine for a newbie....
Itching to give it a go but like I say only 7 days to go and then I can enjoy myself on xmas day (touch wood) experimenting with all the flavours...
