I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice,
I have been getting really strange red raised patches on my skin and some spots of eczema have flared up (I haven't had them flare for years), I have not changed anything I use at home washing powder, creams etc and this has been going on for about a month, and I'm wondering could it be vape related?
I am currently using a 50/50 mix but have no idea if it's more likely to be the pg or the vg I need to take down.........is it more likely one or the other is giving me skin problems?

You could be allergic to either PG or VG,i have patches of eczema and a very itchy scalp due to being allergic to PG and VG.I was vaping happily for about a year and then suddenly these symptoms started,my dad also vapes and suffers the exact same symptoms so its definately vape related. :(I just put up with it now as i feel a hell of a lot better than when i smoked,it is bloody annoying though.

PG does dry the skin aswell so i would use less PG.Problem with that is VG is thicker and clogs atomisers up quicker, also it gives less throat hit so i still use heavy PG mixes.Try drinking more water and see if that helps, doesn't make any difference for me personally though

My ex is an Eczema sufferer, she always associated it with moving between harsh dry temperature changes, always in the winter months going inside and outside alot, Moisturise and covered skin was her only defense. Try cutting down on the usual triggers like caffeine and nicotine..

thanks for all the replies, I think will try a few experiments with less pg for a week then if that does nothing less vg and see if it makes any difference, It's good to know other people have experienced the same thing, and it's not putting me off vaping atall, like Ian says it's just annoying, I tried to cover the blotches with fake tan.........anyone thinking of trying this.....DON'T! it makes the blotches a very dark brown instead of red, it's not a good look

Sorry you are having trouble han.
I'd try different flavouring as well. Food flavours contain additives that cause allergic reactions in some people. A similar flavour from a different supplier might well be fine.

I became PG sensitive after about 18months of vaping Han, antihistamines had no effect ( they do help some people however ) though a 50/50 mix about keeps it in check now for me.

Oh so that's what it is!!
I thought I was just reacting a bit worse to the cold weather this year but this makes more sense - explains the problems I'm getting on the inside of my elbow joints. Bummer.

But han you've been vaping since sept, wouldn't it have flared up really badly the first time you used it if you were sensitive to PG or VG?

These symptoms can start at any time, both me and my dad were fine until a year into vaping.I have been vaping for around 3 years now and have tried many ways to stop these symptoms for the last two years, nothing has worked to date.It is so annoying as i feel a hell of alot better in every other way,the itch is the most annoying part of it all.I have tried so many scalp treatments from the doctor but none will work for me,to keep it under control i wash my hair twice in the shower with capasol every evening,it seems to start itching at its worst at night time for some reason.Suppose we are all different and most people will never suffer any of these things, for those that do it can really get you down but i still feel better than when I smoked so i will not be giving up vaping just yet.

Possibly a silly question, but are you drinking enough water? My skin goes all blotchy when I'm run down or de-hydrated. It could be a simple as that.

I know this is awful but I don't drink any water, I really intend to start but never quite manage it, I am pretty health concious and know how silly that sounds, but I am being honest here! dehydration is a good point!
