I think we'll get plenty of docs. Even the heart specialists at my hospital love somebody swapping to vaping. Trouble is, you can't just turn up, you need an appointment. With hospitals and more influential consultants it is very difficult. Anybody know the current BMA stance?

I expected that. Most doctors, especially consultants, receive a lot of money from pharmacuetical companies and will only accept evidence from pharmacuetical companies, who are against vaping because it stops people and the NHS buying their drugs. Dick Puddlecote may appear to be a scaremonger and on the side of tobacco, but what he writes agrees with what I have learnt. Maybe the idea is to kill us all off, which would save a lot of money in pension payments. Same as the current scandal about refusing to treat older people for cancer to save money because 'they're too old'. Already a number of doctors refuse to do surgery on smokers, but will do if paid privately.

There are two claims for e-cigarettes that need to be investigated: • do they help people quit smoking? • what is their overall health risk? Neither question has been answered adequately with scientific research.
I can adequately say I no longer smoker.
It's a ******** joke. The world out there simply has no idea what's going on.
By the time all the naysayers and doom mongers have got their grubby mits all over government policy, they could effectively send 10s of 1000s of vapers back to tobacco or into the laps of the NRT brigade.

I can now say with confidence that I will never touch another cigarette regardless of what happens in the future

I can't. I'd be back to smoking, chronic bronchitis and spending £90+ a week on fags. My GP supports vaping and classes vapers as non-smokers. So does the cardiology department at my hospital, at least. The BMA is not composed of GPs.

Already a number of doctors refuse to do surgery on smokers. Whilst forgetting that the smokers more than pay for the entire NHS through the tax that they pay. Please don't get me started on that little number!
