Congratulations Booblay to you and the father of the baby I would think that vaping low nic juice would be much better in pregnancy than smoking for both your health and the baby's. Best wishes for a healthy pregnancy x

Congratulations Booblay, really pleased the turkey baster and "legs in air" method worked for you!

Huge congratulations! Personally I'd advise using as little nicotine based products as possible when pregnant because apparently effect the foetus. Having said that I would think vaping is still better than smoking. My wife still smoked when she was pregnant, although she cut down a lot down to maybe 5 a day and we have a very healthy and happy two year old now

It's true that smoking in pregnancy, as recent as the 80's was pretty accepted. I had to be transferred to a regional unit at 28 weeks and smoking was allowed in bed on the ante natal ward!
I'd say go for the least level you feel you can manage Booblay, but if you stay on the same as you are now, don't stress too much.
You never know, you may go off it anyway as things start to taste/smell odd....
Many, many congratulations - such an exciting time. I had fertility treatment to conceive my first (polycystic ovaries, severe, not ovulating at all) and then had 4 in 5 years! The first pregnancy regulated hormones and I was away......

Thanks for all the support. I'll do my best to lower the mgs asap. It is exciting, I'm chuffed to bits. And vaping clearly doesn't affect fertility, does it? Yowza. Legs in the air for a couple of days, and bang! I'm well and truly keith cheggers.

I suspect that doctors who tell people to use nic patches (or to continue vaping) are very conscious that the main risk to the baby's health is not just the pregnancy but having a smoking mother throughout their childhood.
They know that patches don't often work in getting people off smoking, and probably assume that vaping is similar, particularly if they have seen people on crap cig-alikes go back to the fags. So their main motivation is to support people in whatever method they've picked to stay smoke-free.
But if you are like a lot of us who have been vaping for a few months, you know perfectly well that you'll never go back to smoking (unless the government does something stupid, which is another thread). If your doctor knew that he might possibly have pushed a bit harder for you to go zero nic.
Personally for the last 5 weeks I've used only zero nic in the mornings. Which is of course no comparison to using it all day. The point is that when I tried the same thing with cigarettes I was really suffering, and it never lasted anything like that long, whereas now it is no huge effort (though I will admit the first with nic is awfully nice) although I don't have any serious motivation to give up or even cut down on nic.
I'd recommend starting at 0 nic, having 6mg available if it was getting you down. And if you think there is any risk at all of going back to smoking, I'd have some 18mg available too.

Booblay #icon_welldone#
I vape 0mg in tanks (cos I can't bloody taste much in em) & drip low mg in a 306 LR for a bit of flavour & TH. Upping the PG ratio helps with TH too. I rather enjoy the dripping faff but then I shant have me hands full knitting, crocheting & embroidering like wot you will #icon_rofl#
Erm... preggers ladies should avoid unpasteurised cheese, lightly cooked eggs & shell fish. Or am I being so last year dahling?
