That's kind of what pulse width modulation does- if your mod can push out 6v and you want 3v, lets say you press the power button for 10 secs what the mod will do is power 6v for a second and nothing for a second then 6v for a second and so on, the end result is an average of 3v over the 10 seconds because the power is only on for 50% of the time, that's not an accurate calculation but just an idea of how pulse modulation works. If the mod is set for 6v then no pulses will take place and the power will be constant because there is nothing to adjust.. That's why you are seeing pulses in your coil. Edit to add that as it's only doing at 6w it does seem like there is a problem with that unit

If that were the case it would do it at 5.5 and 6.5
The frequency of the PWM is much higher than that pulse. I've seen quoted that the Vamo uses 33Hz PWM, ie 33 times per second.

There is a confirmed 6 watt bug in some units where the unit puts out 13.5 watts RMS due to some errors in the coding which were later corrected..

As I said in the edit, there does seem to be a problem with your unit and as macca confirms there is a 6w bug and yours seems to be affected.

I don't have any "Ekwipmunt" to test mine, bought from Vapeescape in early December, or the brains to work it out ??? Mine did have the battery rattle but a new end cap and spring has sorted that out. It has the insulating ring and it remembers wattage settings after a battery change. If I vape at 6v it seems okay to me, that's the setting I use most, so how would iknow if there was a fault and would the fault always show every time?

Cos it would try and ram 13 watts through your carto and taste very burnt Yours seems fine

OK had the scope on it. Waveform @ 6W when not pulsing. Values from that waveform 6W When the pulse occurs Values from the too high 6W 6.5W waveform 6.5W Values That confirms that PWM is @ 33Hz Duty Cycle shows the percentage of time it puts out full voltage 90% during the pulse. Instead of the 39.9% it should be outputting. The other important value is "DC Mean" thats the average voltage being output by the Vamo. During the pulse it goes from 2.53V up to 5.3V. About the 13W mark a huge jump. During the pulse the Vamo is putting out more than twice the requested Watts.

Cheers Blakey. I read elsewhere that the MK2 has some etching on the back of the body of a circle with a tick in it and the "CE" stamp. Mime hasn't got that but a friends has so I might be a Lucky MK1 owner. As long as it works I am happy.

I noticed because I blew a few coils and kept getting a burnt taste at 6W. That started me looking into it further. If your not tasting the burn or blowing coils you have no problem. Enjoy

It doesn't seem to be a problem and 6v 6W is my Sweet Spot at the moment with the juice I'm using. Thanks.
