can you start with them straight away or should you leave them for a bit? seem to remember seeing someone use some word or another in a few posts that seemed to suggest not using for a while when they come fresh ?

It varies - ask the supplier.

The word you are looking for greeny is Steeping, just means leave it in a cool dark place with the lid off for 7 -10 days when it will mature to perfection. You can use it immediately if you want to but it will not be as good. Good luck

maybe thats why every liquid I have tried (about 10) apart from a couple taste like crap, wouldn't have thought they would have needed it, thought they were good to go

I get the same thing, can you leave it with the lid on, or does it really make a difference without to leavve? Just worried where to leave it with Pets around. Is it safe to leave the lid off?

In my limited experience the freshly made up ones absolutely must steep, I had one made up from vapology and tried it as soon as it arrived and it tasted of chemicals ( though there's nothing nasty in it) and nothing else no smell either. I asked the same question as you and was somewhat sceptical about the whole steeping thing but lo a behold 4 days later I took the top off to smell it and it was completely different, caramel vanilla tobacco smells ( RY4) and it tasted wonderful and got even better by the day. So yeah if it's made to order deffinately steep! Chris.

Unless it's a freshly mixed/made e-liquid, just chuck it on in there and vape away..... I have some liquids that are getting worse with time.....

Thanks guys so I'm guessing leaving the lid on has a similar effect?

Hi Lozzy, I mix my own e-liquid and I dont leave the cap of, in the past I didn't steep my juice but do now I steep them for over a week, but then again it depends what I've mixed. I only take the cap off once every couple of days then I give the bottles a shake and then I leave them alone I keep my juice in a dark cupboard. Its all down to preference each one is different to what they do.
Edited, Shop bought ones I used straight away had no problems

I leave the lids off but then I have a little box for them in the airing cupboard. Haven't noticed an improvement with manufactured liquids but mixed liquids do need some steeping to improve the taste. Big difference IMHO.

Leaving the lid off allows air in to the mixture , it is suggested that this improves the flavour , I have also heard it suggested every couple of days to squeeze out the air at the top of the bottle and allow fresh air in to help the steeping process .... each to his own . I'm in a fortunate position to be able to leave the tops off , no kids and the dog will not come in the spare room because there isn't any heating
