Pixi, She appears to be frustrated and needs exercise , my dog gets all fidgety if he can't get his daily walks. I had 1 poorly dog who couldn't get out and he was chewing his nails so badly they got infected, it was sheer frustration and lack of exercise the vet said, it is quite common behaviour under the circumstances.
I know this is not helping you, just trying to explain why she is chewing at her bandage to get it off so she can walk.
I really do feel for you pixi, nothing you can do to help Misty at this point in time. #grouphug#

I know it sounds absolutely terrible, but if she has to put her weight on it, have you considered crating her to keep movement to a minimum. We had to do that with Ollie-cat when he had an op for a luxating patella & un-united tibial crest & had pins & wire put in . . . was the only way to stop him jumping. They do say it's easier to crate a dog then a cat (only tried the cat so I don't actually know) 4wks of hell, most of the time with him screaming at the top of lungs cos he wanted out, but I dread to think what would have happened if we hadn't done it Whatever you decide I'm sure it will come good in the end.

I have no problem with crates as our other dog is crate trained but mits is too big for darceys crate so would have to buy one which I cannot afford with vets bills at the mo! She will happily curl up and sleep on the sofa at the mo so is resting it quite alot. I was always planning on crate training her from the off and now wish I had so we would have it already. She tends to leap from one side of the sofa to the other over the gap in a corner suit!

We use socks secured with either micropore tape or cohesive bandage (cheap in Home Bargains), to stop Chloe chewing at bandages. She's had to have two ops on two different paws in the year that we've had her.
For outside, I pop a poobag between the bandage and the sock, to keep the bandage dry. A word of warning though, don't be tempted to use the slipper socks with grips on the bottom!
Hope this helps.

Well Mitsys had her paw stitched that went well but while she was under Anesthetic we asked for her hips to be X-ray'd which they did and the news isn't fantastic! Her hip hasn't healed properly and her knee cap is fused to the bone. It will cause problems when she's older but they say the risk of having an op to correct it is too high as they may just cause more damage and render her unable to walk at all. She's got more antibiotics and some loxcam?sp?
