Hello,
Just joined this forum on the recomendations of a couple of e**y - can I say that here? - posters. I'm Mandi, 50 years old and was a smoker since about 14. I'm currently not smoking because I'm using patches but I find most days I miss my old " friends" Mr L & Mr B.
With the long clear evenings and warmer weather I'm finding it harder to stay off the cigs because I always did smoke outdoors as my husband is anti-smoking.
The worst time is when he is away on a football weekend.
So I want to give e-cigs a try, mainly because I like the physical act of smoking and holding a f*g - can I say that here? - in my hand.
Need some suggestions as to which ones to buy, dosage of nicotine etc.

Well you made it to the right place. This is where many ebayers found themselves, and are now committed vapers. A good old mixture - chaps and chapesses, mainly UK based, but a growing band of people from over the waters.

Chrissie founded this forum - she's our boss! She has just had her 1000 day vaping anniversary. New people joining up weekly, so you will not be alone with stupid questions! I have been vaping since last June, and still ask the stoopid questions.

Have a bit of a look through the threads and get a feel for what an ecig is. We can pick you up from there and make some suggestions. There are loads of video links dotted around to provide info and ideas.

Feel free to have a nosey and make a list of your queries. Most folks are around in the evenings, but it usually isn't too long before someone useful is around to provide advice.

Hi Mandi, I'm a recent convert. I smoked 20 a day for 24 years. I started on Friday and haven't touched a cig since. It's not the first time I've tried to ditch the cigs but it the easiest. Hope you find what you are looking for here.

Hi Mandi - hopefully you will trawl through the info on the ideas thread and get a better idea of what we are all on about.

Just to cut things down a bit though, many of us started with a kit like this. It's the Riva - which from the outset everyone has been pleased with. This was my starter kit. It has two batteries (which you at least need - one to use and one on charge) and two atomisers. This model/kit is currently about £34.00, which is a good price.

On top of that you will need e-juice. For that, I would recommend Paradise Vape - as James does small samples for you to taste, and delivery is free. James visits the boards here, and is really helpful when it comes to sorting out juice preferences.

On top of that, you ideally need a few more atomisers, as they don't last too long. Perpetua - one of our mods on this forum - undertakes to place a big order (from China) on our behalf - for atomisers etc. - where we find they are a bit cheaper.

Heres a bit about my experience
i smoked 30_50 rollups a day for 5 years but HAD been a smoker for 27 years
the 5 years on rollups all my bacca was from car boots mainly and boy was it rough
(snide) possibly 10,0000 chemicals in.
i tried for years to pack it in will power,patches,gum even hypnosis all failled.
then by chance a friend had a e-cig.not the best but the ones that look like a fag.
after using it between us i decided it was for me.
i will be honest with you and say that i had still got cravings for a real fag for about 5-7 days but i just sucked on the e-cig and the cravings went.now i have no cravings for real fags at all and find i vape less than i smoked.all i can put it down to personally is the THROAT HIT.
that feeling when you take fag smoke down.of everything that is what i missed and it was because of that that i couldnt pack them in.vaping of course you get that feeling but without all the nasties.give it a try you wont regret it

The word "fag" is fine here, because it's slang for a cigarette, but on ECF or any other forum that is mostly populated by Americans, you will get yelled at, as it is a derogatory term for someone who is gay.
