I realise it has two meanings but "i could murder a fag right now" means I want a cigarette to me... and has absoloutly nothing to do with killing homosexual men!

I might be replying to myself here because I'm not sure how to reply to posts above the most recent one - if that makes sense.
Anyway, i've just ordered the riva 510 starter kit. Do I now need to buy e-juice or does some come with it? Also, I've noticed some are cigarette brand flavoured (mmmmm L&B Gold) and some are well, all kinds of flavours. I feel like a kid in an ice cream shop - and I don't like ice cream!! What should I go for - the real smoke flavour or something else??

yes you need to order some juice.
I (and most i think) started on the tobacco flavours. TBH they were great for about 7 days, after which i found i just couldnt stand the taste of tobacco anymore. Thats just me though, there are many others who are still vaping away on all their favourite tobacco flavours. My current fave is paradise vapes mint choc chip... its like vaping after eights!
My only piece of advice with the flavours is to order 2 or 3 small sample bottles to try, as your taste buds will change and you will soon find yourself fancying something else.

Right. So, I've ordered the riva 510. Now I need to order juice. I think I'd be happier with the baccy flavour to start with. Anything else? Oh, does this thing come with instructions i.e. filling up on the juice. And by instructions - I mean easy peasy stuff like how to make it work......

Welcome mandi! Welcome to the most sympathetic place on the www. Ahah It is a whole new addiction once you get to e-cigs and the AllAbout ! It looks like I'm the odd one out in here, as I'm from Portugal, and I think I am fairly away from the age average, and still I have lots of fun, get useful advices etc... Everybody is really nice and helpful, you'll do great! And.... Congratz on switching P.S.: everybody talks wonders about James' L'n'B so I suppose that's gotta be your first choice.

If you're sticking with bacci for now, perhaps you'd like to give ry4 a try to see wether you'll enjoy the switch to sweeter juices?! It still has the smoky undernote to it or ry4 caramel...

Mandi - suggest you order 3/4 tobacco juices from James - 5ml size, and perhaps a furit or caramel one to try/test the difference. Like you (and I suspect most other people here would agree with me) when you first think of trying vaping, you can't imagine 'smoking' (therefore tasting) anything other than what you are used to - i.e. tobacco. I couldn't get my head around the thought of vaping fruit flavours etc. Now, I never vape just tobacco flavour. Although I buy James' 60 ml tobacco deal (Good buy), I also purchase strong flavours: coffee, caramel etc. which I then mix with the tobacco one. It really is a case of trying them out first to discover for yourself what your personal preferences are. We all differ in here as to which ones we prefer, but most of us definitely recommend starting with James' juice. Great vape! Glad you have placed an order. When it arrives, and you have had a chance to play a bit, then is probably a good time for people in here to give you a few tips. At the moment it won't mean a great deal. But do look at the videos on the thread that Chrissie pointed out. I certainly learned a lot from them, and as new products arrive, most of us turn to a video to get a better idea of what it is, what it does etc. But............ with a bit of luck........ another vaper by the weekend!

Cheers, I'll buy some from James tomorrow. I was about to, but my broadband connection is starting to slow down now - always does in the evenings out here in the ars... um I mean .....back of beyond.
So I'll sign off for now and go and watch Stargate Universe.... banished to be back room as always as husband has the football on.
Many, many thanks for directing me to this forum. I must say it's the nicest and friendliest forum I've ever been in.

Mandi, I meant to add that it's fine mentioning eBay here & fine mentioning fags (for our friends across the pond - fags are what a lot of us here call real cigs). Also, as others have said, any questions you have, don't hesitate asking - no matter how daft the question may seem. Welcome to the All ABout, Mandi !! The word "fag" is fine here, because it's slang for a cigarette, but on ECF or any other forum that is mostly populated by Americans, you will get yelled at, as it is a derogatory term for someone who is gay. Chrissie, I hope that you are feeling better. (((Jerry))) Thanks for explaining that better than I could I'm getting there - lol seemed like everything hit me at once . So had to have a few days of more or less complete rest. Got tons to catch up with in here. Mandi, you have made an excellent choice with the Riva 510 but as the one from Liberty Flights comes with dry cartridges, you will need some e-liquid straight away. It is very difficult to recommend an e-liquid as it is so much down to taste but one of my favourites is James' LnB : - paradisevapeuk.vstore.ca/product_info.php/pName/l-n-b/cName/ejuice-tobaccoGo for the 50/50 option to begin with & the medium strength. Plus as others have suggested go for some completely different flavours as well If you buy anything & you don't like it, you can always sell it in our classifieds/swap section - unlike eBay we don't charge a bean

Can't imagine how I missed this post yesterday Great to see you here Mandi I didn't put our forum on the eBay thread yesterday cos I didn't want to give them an excuse to delete the thread, but they did anyway You've had good guidance here, I'd have said the same as what you've decided on All that remains for now is to say: scylla

Hi,
Guess what I got in the post this morning - my Riva thingy. Yippie! Now just have to wait for the juice, a sunny evening and a glass or two of wine.
I also confessed to hubby that I'd bought an e-cig as his attitude - being a complete non-smoker - is that once you decide to quit it's easy!!! I have seriously considered waiting until he fell asleep every night and then slapping a nicotine patch on him!! There Hugh, see how that feels!!!
He asked why I'd bought the e-cig and I explained that the patches just weren't working any more and I didn't want to start smoking again. So, he was okay about it.
I noticed the thread on ebay disappeared not long after I posted on it!!

Well, I had my first vape this evening after me dinner and I loved it. I think maybe I would have preferred something that looked and felt more like a ciggie in my hand but apart from that it was just like having a smoke. I took it outside to start with, along with a glass of wine and puffed - I mean - vaped away to my hearts content. Then I went indoors and had a few more vapes in the living room, and I haven't smoked indoors in abot 10years!! Loved the throat hit. Loved blowing smoke rings Loved the experience. One question - how much do I put in the atomiser? I only poured a few drops into it as I was a wee bit wary of overdosing or summat. Mandi

Don't know if I said hello before, if not Hello! Nice to hear that you are enjoying vaping, it's great isn't it? I love being able to sit in the living room vaping away without stinking the place up. Well apart from a slight caramel smell.
I'm sure someone will chip in and answer your question, I'm new too so I can't help, sorry.
