Hi all,
stopped smoking sterling cigs 3 days ago and have been using Skycigs since. I bought a starter kit and a few refills, but I'm running out fast. I've realised (in my opinion) they are a bit naff, some of the cartridges are ok, but majority are weak and run out really quick!
Im after some advice as what to upgrade to!
I was looking at the riva 510, but after seeing some videos it looks huge! I understand that the "ciggalike" types like skycigs are considered to be fairly poor in comparison, but something in between the two in size would be great!
I also have seen the ego ce4, which again looks huge.
a few more questions also,
what exactly is a clearomizer/cartomizer?
Do I just need to buy the ecig such as the 510(but smaller) and some liquid? are the majority of ecigs easy to refill?
How can I tell which nicotine amount to purchase?
What does the voltage level mean? is the higher the better?
Sorry for so many questions, I hope you all can help!
Looking forward to my new purchase already!
Thanks

Hi Zeldamum thanks for the welcome,
how are you finding it? is it easy to setup?
is it huge in comparison to a "normal" cig?
theres far too much information im on overload!
this forum is great though but ive spent two hours so far and I'm no closer to a decision on what I need
I don't want to dive in and end up with something I cant work because its too fiddly!

Only had it working for about an hour, so far so good.
Managed to charge batteries easily, it comes with a USB charger so very easy to charge.
I filled the clearomiser that was attached to the battery very easily. Haven't tried the cartomisers yet, it comes with 5, so you can have different flavours on the go.
Couldn't get it to work so had to ask for advice on here, great advice given very quickly. You have to press the buttom 3 times quickly to turn it on and then press and keep pressed the button (which lights up) when you want to vape. So easy.
Yes it is big, i bought it after several people on here recommened it, 1st impression is that vaping is so much like smoking it could really help with quitting and the best part (thinking more long term) is you can get e-liquids with 0 nicotine.
Good luck

Welcome toejam #7261_9485# yes the Riva 1100 is a fantastic bit of kit. The batteries will give a good days vsping before needing a charge. They are more a cigar size but fantastic. I started on nicolites, e-lites and a 510 manual kit. I wished I'd known about the Riva before I wasted my money on all the other things I got . You will get used to the size in minutes. I am happy vaping around Tesco etc and nobody gives you a second glance Well done on joining the forum. Full of friendship and brilliant advice

Hi toejam Yes, the Riva is a damn sight bigger than a regular cig, but you get used to it pretty quickly! Get one of those and a few juice samplers, and you'll be sorted

Thanks esmecullen, that looks more like the size im looking for, is there any other options out there,
Just want to find out all my options really, one with two batteries would be great to start i guess.
I found this video which I think is what you posted, and it looks great,
Thanks for your comment Sue, I do like the look of the riva, but its just too big for me to stump up the cash for atm!
are cartomizers pre filled? and clearomisers ones I fill up with liquid?
I dont really like the look of the clear ones,

Hiya Toe............When I started on e-cigs I felt just like you, I wanted something the size of a fag, but soon realised you do have to go slightly bigger if you want something where the battery will last more than a couple of hours. I was also like you wondering if I would know what I was doing, I got the hang of it quite easily although still now sometimes have little problems, you only need to come on here and somebody is usually there within minutes to help you

Hi toejam and Carts and Clearos you have to fill them up with liquid, just a note about smaller e-cigs, the smaller it is the quicker the battery needs charging again. Here is a piccy so you can get a idea on size of the Riva 1100 compared to a small cig-alike. postimage.org/image/stksq0299/For me the Riva 1100 wins hands down. Cig-alike far left, Riva middle...forget the one on the right, that is my V-Bomb

Ok, im starting to edge back toward the riva then, before I go ahead, can some one tell me ...
Each starter kit comprises: 2 x Matt Black RIVA 510 atomisers 2 x Matt Black RIVA 510 650mAh manual batteries with blue LEDs 1 x Matt Black RIVA 510 Atomiser cone 1 x USB fast charger 1 x USB-to-AC mains adapter (UK or EU depending on your location) 10 x blank (empty) cartridges
What are atomisers, I thought these were batteries, and what do the cones do?
Im so sorry for all the questions guys, your probably fed up already!
