Hi,
I am a relative newbie and have just got a Lavatube VV. I have been setting the voltage at 3.7v cos that is what is written on the battery. I use it with Kanger T3 (2.4ohm head) and Dual Coil Tanks with 1.5 ohm cartos. Ignoring juices, should I be setting the voltage differently for these two tanks? If so what would be good settings to start off with?

Generally the higher the resistance the higher the voltage needed to work it. 3.7 is fine for SR (2.4) and LR (1.5) but the LR ones will be working hotter at that voltage (fine if you like warm vapour.) It's down to taste, I often don't use the same voltage for the same clero/carto or even the same through the day.

It's all about personal choice, myself, I prefer higher voltages on tobacco flavours and lower on sweet flavours, find your own favourites, some juices taste burnt though, you'll soon get the hang of it. -------- Baz

You could probably afford to go a little higher Chris with your 2.4ohm heads . . . there's no rule set in stone, you need to experiment a little to find what works best for you and gives you a good vaping experience. I'd probably use those at around 4v's.
Your DC 1.5ohm, it depends what version LT you have, the default setting varies between the versions. There is a limit to how high you can push these and even though your LT may display a higher voltage, it will revert to what is comfortable for the device to handle.

You'll be limited then Chris, I can't remember the specifics as my senior noddle doesn't retain information like that. But! Don't be disappointed, it was a great buy and for the majority of vapers, using DC's & a V1 Lavatube the default settings are perfectly adequate, they always have been for me, I don't like to rip my throat out or blow my brains out . . . that's not an enjoyable vape to me.

It`s a "suck it and see" kind of thing, start out low and tweak it up until you get the vape, taste and warmth that suit your preferences

I depends a bit on how you draw as well. I tend to do long draws, and my juice is inclined to burn at 3.7v on a 1.5 ohm head. So I turn it down.

I "long draw" too and just turning down from 3.7v to 3.5v with the Kanger makes a difference to the taste. I can see an evening of experimentation in front of me.

I tend to drop the voltage for low resistance heads down to 3.4 to start with. In reverse, if I know a vivi or V3 is 2.0ohms or more, I start at 3.7, and generally pop it up nearer 4.0 I often put the numbers in on this www.onlineconversion.com/ohms_law.htmmostly, I try to get between 6-8 watts.
