Hi Alan, and welcome to the forum! I got onto PVs and vaping through a narrowboat/canal forum, but it was the best decision I've made since I proposed to my wife of 23 years!

Hi Alan and Welcome.

Similar to you I had been smoking around 30-40 roll ups per day, although for a good 20 years less.

Vaping for 3 days and not even thought about having a rollie.

I also feel much better. Still coughing up a little in mornings, but it's now just pebbles rather than breeze blocks.

Thankyou everyone for such a warm welcome , I found this forum only about 2 weeks ago and after the initial "blur" of information available when reading through a number of the initial threads ........... only a suggestion and I know some folks have spent many hours on doing some excellent informative threads BUT what about a super simple vaping for "dummies" with everything condensed into a very few bullet points . This could be the starting point to the more informative existing threads . A relative newbie would be ideal to do this - i am not being in any way critical when i suggest this vaping for dummies , simply feel that the excellent forum and potential vaper may benefit from this

Alan, part of the problem compiling any kind of beginner guide is the rate of advancement in e-cigs!

I can't believe how much things have changed in just over a year

it seems like almost daily that something new comes out!

Well said Karma i understand , and to be fair I was just about to scrub my post before you replied . I had re-read the newbies guide and lo and behold I now understand ....... but that I think is because I now know something as opposed to nothing

I honestly think to get the best out of e-cigs you either need to stay near a helpful B+M shop or join a helpful forum, like this

Most kit comes with little or no instructions and I can still remember how I felt when I bought my first 'proper' kit

It is easier to understand as you say Alan, once you have the kit in front of you and people willing to help

Fantastic start, I am a bit like yourself,smoked for 40 years and tried every conceivable way of quitting, lasted a few months once but found the excuse of a forthcoming exam which got me back on the smokes again. Been on the ecigs for over six months now and never looked back, it is so easy with these things
