Ive just had a good look at my bank balance and it seems to be dropping like a stone, the amount of money im spending each month is phenominal , and its all because ive quit smoking and turned to vape, its like a drug, I keep getting pulled into buying things all the time , so what im thinking of doing is quiting the fomum side of the vape scene as its costing me to much , its not breaking me its just too expensive when you keep seeing things and then you thnk i'll try one of them. its taking over my life and I personaly think its time to stop.

Have you tried Hypnotherapy? Sorry bad smoking analogy joke. I know how you feel and in a month or 2 I'll probably feel the same, but it is becoming like a hobby for me and I'd guess it is for you too. I've never had any hobby that didn't cost. Even getting into proper coffee ended up costing me an arm and a leg. Good luck bomber in whatever you choose to do.

Self discipline is tested when people are raving about how good an item / juice is, I guess. But thats all it boils down to, self discipline. Stick around bomber, just not as much

What i plan to do now is just use what i have, as i have made some DIY liquid so once my ready made juice has gone use the diy stuff. Then all i plan to do is allow myself £5-10 a week, if i don't need spend it add it onto the following week.
As i said in another post i have left my vamo at my parents, and tbh i can live without it. Nothing wrong with a normal ego and a CE4/boge combo.

That's a shame Bomber. People do say that smokers have that addictive personality though. Maybe you've just replaced the baccy with another addiction? All the best whatever you decide to do. I've been lucky to some extent because I'm as tight as a gnat's chuff and refuse to buy anything unless it serves a purpose or I can't make it myself much cheaper. I've been vaping 2 months and I broke even about a week ago. I still have a stack of liquid, now know how to rebuild clearos and I'm getting into DIY mixing which means I don't really need much new stuff. I think it's my Yorkshire genetics

Vaping must be working for you ... is it the hobby-side of the forum that is incurring the costs? I have to say I think since I have been here, my spending has increased and I am now trying to exercise some self-control in what I purchase. I've bought 2 expensive mods which should last a lifetime and 3-4 good rebuildable atomisers. The rest is now liquid and consumables for me. I've resisted the urge to buy the stuff I've not tried yet, T3's, evod,'s,evic's etc etc
I'm a completist and want to collect everything .... we just need to recognise when we get something that works to stick with it.... and understand that most devices are battery holders and its aesthetics that urge us to buy. I never bought a cigarette because of what the pack looked like.
It's Friday night ... discount night and with a bottle of red I now have to resist looking at vape sites ... generally when I cave in and make stupid purchases.
Beat the urge, stay on the forum and become our spending guardian angel :-)

I think it's my Yorkshire genetics There is some truth no doubt to the addictive personalities view. But I started going mental at the start and spent a fortune but now I'm pretty happy with what I've got and don't need to keep buying new stuff... (as much) I did a spreadsheet of stuff that I need each month and now try to keep it to that, I'm also going to be looking at mixing my own juice to keep costs down. I found once I started to get a good set-up for me the constant searching for the "perfect vape" if there is such a thing died down and became a little more manageable. I have to use self discapline now but it's easier than it was when it was all new. If all that fails I have a wife who is pregnant and hormonal and just looking for a reason to beat me and she controls the spending Hope you stick around for the social side of things and just buy what you need not what you want for a couple of months to alleviate the guilt over your bank balance
