ECCA Nominations

ECCA want nominations from Forums to be put forward to represent each forum at their AGM on 14th April.

As it stands the ECCA committee is made up of a Chairperson, Vice
Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer (position vacant) and Representatives
of the various forums.



For voting to take place at the AGM we need nominations for those positions.



We do have a voting system here on the site but I don't seem to have access rights to add the various new polls



So we'll have to do it the long way round and post polls to each of the
forums with representation i.e. ECR, UKV, and AAEC and POTV if they
would wish to be included as POTV was not in existence during the last
elections.



Each forum need only have a nomination put forward for their respective
forum representative as well as nominations to the other positions. As
names come in for the positions available, it is these names that will
be put forward to the vote during the AGM.



With help we can get this process done in a timely fashion, As with the
opening process of the AGM proper I would suggest That first each forum
moderation team get together and decide whether they wish their forum to
be represented, from there the gathering of nominations can begin.



As the polls have been added to the respective forums they will be
linked here in this thread so we can gather and collate the nominees.

I feel like this isn't my place to be posting this as I am only a member of ECCA and not a MOD on AAEC, but if I don't it seems no one else will.

We need a voice people and it's about time we all stood up and did more.

ECCA cannot work without members and members who are willing to stand together at that.

It can work, but it's up to all of us to make it work.

If the EU Commission get their way then vaping and this forum along with it will be dead in the water.

Act now, not when it's too late!

To the right of the main page under Main Menu, there is a Join ECCA link to click Giles.

I'd feel uneasy nominating myself to represent AAEC as in the grand scheme of things I've only been here 5 minutes. Not just on this forum, but in terms of vaping in general.

I'm not making excuses I just do not want to sell any of the positions short.

As I've said time and again I would be happy to undertake any task, but need direction in doing so.

Thanks for supplying the link Mark. The website does need work, and the forum needs someone to wake it up too.

In general it seems to me that in general ECCA needs someone to wake it up. It hasn't been very visible in the 8 months I've been around.

If one of the mods here want to represent this forum then it seems to me that they should do so, but I'd hope they'd join the committee with a wider ambition than just that.

The same goes for the other positions on the committee. If they aren't going to do more than they've done recently it would be nice if there were alternatives.

I appreciate what you're saying Giles, I did infact take Minutes for ECCA in it's early days and sat up to midnight on some occasions when the online meetings went on until that time.

But with the greatest of respect to both you, everyone else and ECCA, being a Moderator on a busy internet forum such as ours, is almost a full time job in itself. We do a lot of work behind the scenes, work in Real Life and have families/other commitments to fulfill.

Whilst I can't speak for the other forum Moderators, I know I only have so many hours in my day. Personally, I like to try and fulfill a couple of voluntary commitments hopefully to a reasonable standard, than do a lot rather badly.

Mark if you have the time i think you would make a good representative ,you have demonstrated your passion by raising this issue and taking the time to write a post,i don't think we need a vape veteran or mod just someone who is interested in doing it.
you get my vote if you do want to do it

I wasn't saying you should Perps, just that if you wanted to you have the right. We all appreciate how much you do.

I would do it in a heartbeat Andy , but as I have said I'd feel I'm selling it short and also getting a bit above my station.

If I was to nominate mods it would be either Simate, Jess or Karma. I think someone with a few years vaping and at least 6 months of frequenting the boards would be a wiser choice. They will be speaking for everyone after all.

The buzz that is going around on other forums, I'd feel that this AGM could well be make or break for ECCA imo.

I too wouldn't be able to commit enough time to something like this. I am hoping to get back to work very, very soon if all goes well, family commitments and now being a mod on here doesn't leave me with much if any time to do anything else really. Its not because I don't want to, there just aren't enough hours in the day.

I think you are putting yourself down Mark, you may not have been vaping for long or on here for long but your passion is what I think counts for a lot.
