Thank you again. With the wattage set at 6.0 the voltage on the multi tests at 5.9 volts. The ohms tests at 2.2 ohms. wow, .98 is way too high, I`m not surprised it is doing the 02 and switching off thing. Try checking the voltage at the same points and press the fire button and see what the voltage is (awkward lol). It should be negligable. petey

Maybe I am not explaining myself right. You need an atomizer in and then test the voltage drop across the two ends of the VAMO while pressing the fire button.

NO LOL I'm not understanding it right. 40 yrs electrical experience Wow. Have to dig out an atomizer and thank you again. Maybe I am not explaining myself right. You need an atomizer in and then test the voltage drop across the two ends of the VAMO while pressing the fire button.

What is happening is that you are losing about a third of the 4.2volts on the battery before it gets to the VAMO control board. So you are getting the low volts/flashing lights thing etc. If You are getting about a volt lost from the bottom of the VAMO to the top of the VAMO then there isnt enough left for the control board to make any sense. In a way it is good news though, it means you probably have a good solder joint on the top cap which is where it feeds the board with it`s negative from the battery.
Is your spring gold in colour?

From the base of the Vamo to the atomizer it tests out to 3.3 volts. Maybe I am not explaining myself right. You need an atomizer in and then test the voltage drop across the two ends of the VAMO while pressing the fire button.

From the base cap to the top cap, connector threads is 0. When I contact the post where the atty contacts I get 5.9 volts. and what about from the base of the vamo to the side of the top cap?

That`s as it should be, but you need to fire the atty with the meter connected between the top and the bottom of the Vamo, it should only be 0.1V ish

And now the Vamo is reading my batt as 3.4 volts yet multi reads it at 3.8 volts. Have used it for about 1 hour normal vaping and batt has gone down from 4.1 to 3.8 volts.

It could be that solder joint on the top cap is slightly loose causing resistance and that will cause the loss of the 0.4volts which is very near the point where the VAMO would shut down for low volts

I think while I have the opportunity I'll send it back. I really love the Vamo and place no blame on the Vendor as these things happen and it was just the luck of the draw IMO. Thank you so very, very much and although the issue wasn't fixed I learned a ton of stuff from you and for that I am in your debt. Really liking this forum and the people here. Thanks ever so much once again and have a great weekend, Petey.

Yes it's the large latest gold spring- have also cleaned everything and made sure there's good clean connections. Is the spring gold in colour?
