I read a story in the press recently about a guy who wanted to surprise his girlfriend on her birthday the following week by meeting her off the train at one of the main London stations, taking her into the bar and giving her a cupcake with a candle on it. Stupidly he wrote to the station and asked if it would be ok. They replied that they would first have to carry out a risk assessment, and as that could take up to 28 days it would not be done in time for the birthday so therefore he was refused permission.

OneDay, that just about sums it up. I'm all for health warnings, especially 'nut allergies', but the compensation culture here now is as bad as the USA. Have you heard the latest radio ads for, not only PPI, but hearing loss, vision loss, vibration problems, medical malfunctions, tripping over kerbstones etrc. etc. It will soon be not safe to go out of your own house because you'll be persuaded to sue yourself for falling over the trash can that was left in the path. The companies springing up are as bad as the 'payday' loans. Ridiculous, and it surely has got to stop,

Well Raffles, we do have that sow of a police woman claiming from the petrol station as she tripped on a kerb. I so hope she get's fined for wasting the courts time.
