??? Does anybody have any plans as to how to obtain e juice etc if this ban goes through. Can't believe I have given up smoking and the best method is going to be banned!! Now I am wondering what I will do? Can't think of smoking again. Is there a way out? Pixie

Stock pile? Panic buy? I expect we'll be able to buy from outside the EU online but it's a dodgy prospect as at least we know that our favourite suppliers will have the best interests of we customers at heart when they manufacture or buy in their stocks. I don't like the 'unfamiliar.' The UK based vendors won't be able to import stocks of devices or juices if the current proposals are implemented. It may, of course, be possible for individuals to purchase from, say, the US where we can be pretty sure the quality will be there although it wouldn't surprise me one bit if sniffer dogs are in training as we speak!!! Finding a good and secure method to pay for our goods might prove problematic as I've read that threats have been made to sue anyone (Google/PayPal/card companies) facilitating the purchase of e-cigs, their components and nicotine juice. Google Checkout have already refused to accept transactions and PayPal are, apparently, being iffy about it. Fox

I'm sure that if things do come to the worse, the lovely Amy (Health Cabin, China) for one, will do everything she can to get stock to us. Her packaging is very clever to say the least

Do you think no one's told Ryanair? www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/ireland/2009/0921/1224254909701.htmlI for one, would be afraid to buy from abroad (except from Amy, of course) because of the fact that Diethylene glycol was found to be in one of the cartridges tested and is cheaper to get hold of than the PG... i feel it may be more likely to be used by unscrupulous manufacturers if this ban goes through, wouldn't like to think so, but how would we know?

Lilac, the Smokeless Cigarette that Ryanair are promoting, isn't an e-cig. It's something si,ilar to the nicorette inahalator ; www.similarshop.eu/commerce/smokelesscigarettes/company/smokeless.jsfI think that most of the larger Chinese suppliers sell Dekang juice, same as Amy does. So I don't think you would have anything to worry about them containing Diethylene glycol.

Didn't realise it included the e cig, thought it was just the juice - even more worrying. What about all these plans to sell them on the High Street?

This latest debacle must be a shocking blow to all vendors but particularly for Intellicig who'd just signed a deal to sell to large outlets here in the UK; the bad news came just days after they made their announcement! > We can only guess at what will happen regarding the devices and in view of the attitude of the FDA to anything other than NRT or plain/menthol flavoured tobacco, I'm not optimistic. If the ban is just in the UK it is really NOT going to be hard to source the liquid from other places - China - Janty Netherlands - Freesmoke Spain and that is exactly what I will do.
TW is now producing liquid from a laboritory in the US - very snazzy packaging , its having a vaping taste party on Sun 14th.
I also think they cannot just ban it outright but will have to go through parliament so you are potentially looking at 2011 before it would come in to effect.

Great news, Keef, re TW's extra-UK manufacturing - as long as we can get it out of the US and into here.

Foxy, they also don't know the law re the smoking ban!
"The four products that: have been tested so far did not contain tobacco. However, there are many different e-cigarette products on the UK market, which function in different ways and some products may contain tobacco. Therefore it cannot be assumed that all e-cigarettes can be used legally in smokefree premises."
In Chapter 28 that incorporates the Smoking ban, the definition of smoking is stated as : smoking refers to smoking tobacco or anything which contains tobacco, or smoking any other substance, and smoking includes being in possession of lit tobacco or of anything lit which contains tobacco, or being in possession of any other lit substance in a form in which it could be smoked.
To me the operative word in chapter 28 is "lit"

the only way to stop this is to get it on( for example) sky news. local news is a waste of time, there must be someone in the ecig community that has contacts,it may be worth if someone could hatch a method to bombard sky news with emails the worst it would do is get binned and it could get airtime. ragjoy...........
