At the moment I've been using a Trustfire TR001. But I read somewhere that these aren't good? If the Trustfire isn't safe, what should I be using to charge 18650 batts? I've got 5 batteries (3x Samsung 2600, and 2x Panasonic 3000), so if I charge using USB to the evic I can only charge one at a time, which invariably means it would always be on charge and I could never go outside. Well, living in the neighbourhood I do perhaps that's no bad thing anyway! Would be interested to hear what others are using to charge their 18650's.

Lots of people use Trustfire TR-001 chargers and are happy with them. I had one very briefly but got rid of it as it screamed like a banshee! I replaced it with a Nitecore i4 which has been spot on so far, bought it in January this year.

I also used a TR001 happily, for about 6 months. Decided I needed a spare, got an intellicharger I2, which has 2 slots and will charge my AAs as well, so now the TR001 is the spare.

Pila, I decided that I would have the best charger money could buy. I don't want to worry about anything going wrong and I know my batteries will be the better for it.
But then I also have the best charger money could buy for my rechargeable AA's, because I know it's important.
My motto, is buy once, buy best. Especially batteries and chargers.

Thanks for your replies. Womble - can I ask - what is the best charger then? I agree with your moto, and I think buying the best saves money in the long run - but that rule probably doesn't apply to cars as I can't afford a Lamborghini.

The Pila is widely recognised as the best charger, or was when I bought mine anyway. Not totally sure that is still the case. Expensive yes, but to me, worth it.
I have no worries about safety and I know my batteries are being looked after well.
The Xtar is also a well thought of charger, it wasn't around when I got one the first time, so I bought the 2nd best, a 4sevens, which lasted a year and broke. I thought sod this and just paid the extra money for the best.
