@verey sounds interesting
@roachie, I have no idea what I'm doing, I'm making it all up as I go along but I'm determined to end up with something that works.

Don't worry Roachie, I'll be careful! ;)I want a button like you get on arcade machines, I'll have to remember to google that. I think I've figured the electrics side of it out and I've ordered some connectors. Next bit of homework - soldering. I've pinched the father in laws soldering iron and some lead free solder but god knows if they go together. Also the soldering iron looks a bit too heavy duty for my needs. I need to mock up a battery sleeve so I'm going to raid my sons pay doh set.

Ah clever thinking with the button sure you could find them cheap and UH OH me and soldering dont go mate lol.Used to do it back in the day with consoles and i used to push too hard to make sure it was solderd ok and break it lol.
Which was more hassle than it was worth lol.

Another little update. Went down to the shop and filled my basket with these. I really hope I can turn these into a mod or I'll be left with a huge pile of broken torches. Pictured next to a 16340 and the two CR2032's that they're supposed to take.

My local poundland doesn't have those lovely colourful torches I already had one of the black ones though, plus a dumpier black one - I must get round to fiddling with them.

Since discovering modding I can't go anywhere without thinking, "ooh that might be useful!"
Quick question, would it be ok to use wood inside a mod to space the battery? It would be much easier for me to make. I've seen wooden mods so I'm guessing it will be fine?

It should be fine but since wood only conducts when it is either still alive and full of sap, or hit with very high voltage (lighting usually) as far as I remember.
Yes, I wander shops with my brain giving me technical details of whether something is suitable for modding or not.

That's beautiful Lee . When you go shopping, snaffle any orange or green ones you see, so you can make one for me

@verey I am hoping to use the wood to house the battery so it doesn't rattle around. Clutter I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Im no modder Lee as you can appreciate as its something i will look into at a much later date tbh.But i was thinking now you see the top part?couldnt you take the Plastic lense off and remove the bulb and maybe when you get the connections possibly make the hole bigger?
and fit the connection in there.Or am i being stupid.As i know when ive tinkerd about with bits the bottom part under the lense where the bulb sits is a thin piece of metal.
Hmm just an idea sorry if im being stupid.
