Thanks, I'm having a total nightmare with the button so I doubt I'll be going into mass production any time soon! It's such a small space to work in it's really difficult to get everything positioned. I'm also thinking it should have a fuse, the atty gets hot quick. Back to the drawing board. Hmm, what resistance atty was it ? I can't think how a fuse would help, if you are using 3.6V batteries most have peak voltage not more than 4.0-4.2V when fully charged (check one when just out of the charger with a meter) the draw of amps to the atty should not be wildly different from normal batteries so extra heat would have to be because of the atty itself. The only tiny fuses I can think of are polyswitch fuses but they involve a fair amount of research since they have an activation level which needs to be carefully worked out, otherwise they break the circuit when you don't want them too and don't activate until its too late if you overcompensate.

I was just guessing, so it's ok how it is? It might have been because the battery was fresh off the charger. It certainly packs a punch. If I can figure the switch out it will make a great little mod.

No not yet. I have done 2 of these now but they work more by luck than design. They're too awkward inside to consider letting anyone get their hands on them yet. I have a couple of ideas I'm working on though so hopefully will have a couple ready soon.

Lee, not sure if it's the done thing but have you asked gary? He might point you in the right direction as he has a bottom switch on the one he's done.

I have my atty connection at the other end to his. I might just give up on this one as it's killing me! I think I'll leave it to one side and finish it when I have the right parts.
I have an idea for a better mod and will be starting with a clean slate and buying all the right components to start with.

Can't wait to see your idea! How about a shape that will incorporate 14500 batteries? They're quite neat and I believe they are "better" than the 3.7v Spiderfires. Well, how about deciding on the best, neatest battery and going from there? Cos batteries are ever so important to us That's coming from a technical dumbo scylla x

You read my mind Scylla! I was thinking of either a single or double battery set up. I'm hoping to plan out how everything fits first then find something to put it in. Much easier than trying to cram it all in a tiny torch body.
