I vape in pubs and restaurants and never had a problem but I keep it a little under the radar to avoid some jobsworth getting over excited.

I don't go in pubs very often these days, but the last 3 I've been in, I asked if it was OK to use my e-cig & all 3 said no problem at all

I'm pretty new to this vaping malarky so this convo has probably been thrashed out long ago .... but playing devils advocate here, would non-smokers not have a valid point in it not being allowed indoors as the vapour (containing the nicotine) not hang in the air for a while?

I have always vaped in pubs. I would usually ask a member of staff if it ok first though. A year or so ago that would involve explaining what the device is, and assuring them of it's relative safety, nowadays people seem to be more and more clued up. I try and avoid vaping around food or people eating though.

In my 7-8 weeks of vaping, I've only ever encountered 1 other vaper, and it was in a pub - can you guess which chain? .... Wetherspoons 2 of us, stealth vaping (Maybe their staff could tell the difference - or maybe they thought I'd give them a 'Byker Kiss' if they said owt.)

Even had one of the barstaff last night come up and ask if they could try me Paps/Spheroid set up. Apparently, she'd tried a cheap disposable and whilst unimpressed still had hopes for them, and was amazed at the Vapour Production and looks of me Vape set up. Let her have a go and asked some questions - So gave a C9 Business card and pointed her towards Viva Vaping's site

I always ask in pubs, nearly all say yes, but my local said no - but they've become more of a restaurant recently so a bit different I suppose.

the club we use are right maungy g*ts, i asked a committee member if i could use mine & he said no because older members think that people are smoking indoors, i showed him mine & said i don't think they would mistake this for a normal cig (its the purple riva) & still got same answer, i think they are so old fashioned & don't really know what they are, i'm not going outside though to use my pv, i'll just do it sneaky where i'm sat

I am not much of a pub goer these days, but several times I have stealth vaped at our local Toby Carvery and Harvester. Never where the food I though, only in the bar area. Nobody has ever noticed! In stark contrast, when we have our LSE meet ups in pubs there is often 20 - 25 of us chugging away happily. Alan always gets permission for us to do it and I have to say, the look of surprise on other pub goers is classic. I don't think any of them have complained though, just totally confused as to wht we are doing.

I was out in Newcastle last night, never saw anyone vaping, I only had a 'drag' between pubs.

Over 12,000 pubs have closed in the UK since the Smoking Ban was introduced.
Now I am not saying that all of these closed because people who smoke no longer went to the pub, but a significant number did stop going and a significant number of pubs were directly affected because of the Smoking Ban.
Now that Vaping is allowed in pubs, any pub who is struggling will welcome the chance to get their ex-customers back through the doors.
