Welcome to you Sammy. I know you're adamant about wanting a cig alike . . . but you'd get so much better a vaping experience and more choice if you looked at some other excellent alternatives as has been suggested.

Sammy if your skycigs are up and running then that leaves you some room to experiment. Find. Your self some pre-filled cartos, there are some for ok prices on most of the sites mentioned, but also get yourself a ego and some juice. That way you can push yourself a bit. Egos and bottles of juice are cheaper and better both for satisfaction and savings.

Sammy are you anywhere near Southampton i could show you the difference between the vapour production and results to expect? There really is a massive difference and with the right equipment you will enjoy vaping as much as smoking.

Hi Sammy and welcome to the forum! I have never been down the cig-a-like route myself, but have read enough posts from people who have converted to an eGo-type device from the likes of Skycigs and who rave about the difference and satisfaction they get, as well as the considerable savings in the long term. If you REALLY have to stick with a cig-a-like, then you have received some good advice above, but I would urge you to consider something slightly larger which can still be craftily concealed in your palm and will give you a much better hit for a fraction of the price that you will pay for pre-filled carts. Many folk have struggled with cig-a-likes but have finally managed to stay off the stinkies with an ego device. Best of luck in your quest, and keep us posted! Andy

Sammy, your IP addie is showing you as being in the Leeds area? If you are, then Vape Escapes in shop Heywood isn't all that far from you - www.vapeescape.co.uk/contact.aspIf you can get to their shop, you would be given excellent help & advice, plus see & try out different options.

Hi Sammy. I can speak for the JacVapour kit. I owned one (with two batteries and a charging case) and it got me off the smokes! I have recently been trying to persuade people NOT to move up their other kit(s) as essentially it is a kit that requires the user to use only their own accessories. I consider them fine for the mini-look-alike user that just needs half a dozen carts (refills) and doesn't want to look any further; probably a light smoker (under 10 a day). Let me do some maths. A long term user of JacVapour will probably spend £40 to get started and then need to spend another £40 on batteries (4) over a year. 10 cartomisers a week would be £700 per year. That's £780 for the year (minimum, I'd say), or £15 a week. That could and would have risen to £20 a week for me. Skycig £50 to get started £52 on batteries. 10 cartomisers a week = £1,040 per year. £20 rising to £25 a week. E-Lites. £50 to get started. £40-80 on batteries. 10 cartomisers a week = £2,074 per year. £40 rising to £50 PER WEEKSo, that's over £2,000 for E-Lites and only £780 for JacVapour. and if that's not shocking enough, I found the JacVapour kit superior in every way to the E-Lites. In fact. my E-Lites produced almost no vapour and did NOTHING whatsoever to help with my lower-than-average nicotine addicition. The mini e-cig market is FULL to the brim of get rich quick shysters who don't care about making claims that can never, ever be true in the real world. If it must be a mini, thread very carefully indeed. Maybe just buy a pair of nice small batteries, a charger and some prefilled cartos to get your going, from an independent vendor.Personally, I think VapeEscape are the best out there (along with some others, but maybe not for your needs just now). Alternatively, keep asking. You ARE in the best place. Everyone on here is genuine and will help you in any way. Most of us spend our £800 a year on clever gadgets and all sorts of seemingly complicated things, but I can assure - it can be done, you can quit and we will help you.

Hi everyone, thank you all for been so helpful. I'm sorry if I seem totally stupid but I spent hours looking through links that lead to links last night and I am totally bamboozled by everything. The prices above that djs has quoted are quite shocking, I know smoking is expensive (as well as deadly) but £2000 per year to quit?? I have decided to take this slowly now and go through everything step by step until I understand, so expect some dumb questions lol.
When you buy liquid to fill something yourself, how many ml generally would be the equivalent to 20 ciggies , and how much is the average price for that amount?
I thought I would compare it to sky cig. They claim one new cartomiser is equivalent to 30 ciggies, and each one costs £2.15. So you are looking at £2 per day bearing in mind you will probably use it more whilst struggling to cut down /stop.

Hello sammy13 Never mind what a site like Sky Cigs claim, a prefilled cartomiser is about the equivalent to 10 ciggies! A cartomiser holds about 1ml of e-juice! If you get a kit, such as the one from e-cig wizard, that has a 510 connection, you could buy some of these cartos that are a great price at the moment, the price is for a pack of 5 www.ecigwizard.com/offers/bargain-basement/neatcigs-cartos.htmlyou could then buy some e-juicre of a similar flavour and practice topping them up or for a cheap intro to a much longer lasting battery you could get one of these kits paradisevapeuk.vstore.ca/egoce5-blister-pack-p-536.html

Sammy DJS was just trying to show you how much some of the ciggie lookalike vendors are so expensive. I used to smoke on average 50 cigs a day at todays prices that would be approximately £122 a week I now spend about £10.00 a week vaping.

So you are looking at £2 per day bearing in mind you will probably use it more whilst struggling to cut down /stop. I can only guess that 20 "sessions of vaping" worth of e-liquid will be about 1.5-2ml *for me*. 2ml will cost £1 or less depending on how much the e-liquid is. It'll be interesting to see what others say, but I vape more often than I smoked (like many), probably 20 times a day, maybe even 25. (ex 15 roll-ups) If you buy a small e-cig and fill your own cartomisers, you'll also need a regular supply of blank cartos. You might get away with using only 1 or 2 in a week refilling. I think you can vape for £2 per day easily, and that £2 will probably be more effective in terms of nicotine and satisfaction using good quality carts filled by yourself. I don't use cartomisers any more, so I may be way off.

If Chrissie vapes for £10 a week, that's helpful for us/you. The £2,000 figure is what I would have spent on E-Lites before switching to JacVapour and then moving on again to my final set-up. I do have some heavy-duty vaping gear (not posh exactly) but essentially I vape day to day using standard kit.

I don't even spend £2 a day at the moment. I'm coming up on 2 months and mixing my own juice and recoiling will probably put me below £2 a day. I bought blister packs from paradise vape and some clearos and some evods, cheap as chips and we now have 5 batteries and 4 chargers between us lol.
Cheap ego batteries and clearos really are the way forward, I was convinced I needed a cig a like and that was what I needed. I ended up back on the cigarettes, this time I took everyone's advice on here and bought ego's and I'm now coming up on 2 months, could I have done that with the CIG a like? Never in a million years.
