Hi everyone, I am after some advice and having read through a few threads on here I feel I am definitely in the right place.
I purchased a sky cig kit some years ago. This was not to stop smoking, but to use when I was in places where you couldn't smoke. The kit contained 2 batteries, a charging case, and 5 cartridges? ( Prefilled screw in thingies that give you the taste and vapour ). Over the last couple of years I have used it, and lent it to friends to use .
I have now been told due to health reasons I MUST stop smoking.
I only have one cartridge? left for my sky cig, and the batteries may need replacing soon, I really don't know, so I popped to their website. Firstly they seem quite expensive, and secondly they have now changed the batteries they sell so they wouldn't fit my charging case properly. I would have to buy the new starter kit realistically so it may as well be a different brand. As this is now going to be a full on commitment I am looking for advice as to which is the best, and cheapest make as I have to do this.
The one thing is - it has to be one that looks like a cig, and that you just screw the prefilled cartridges onto. I know a lot of posts on here recommend other devices, and fill your own things ,but certainly in these early stages I couldn't cope with those. I have looked at websites but there are so many things to take into account, how often you will need to buy a new battery, how many puffs you get from the cartridge, the cheapest may end up costing more in replacements. Also I have only ever heard of about 3 brands so I have no idea if others are even genuine. Just to re-cap I need something that looks like a cig, has a prefilled cartridge, and a charging pack, and I'm looking for the best quality/ value. Hope you can help me, thanks

Hello & welcome Sammy Unfortunately ciggie lookalikes & prefilled cartomisers aren't the cheapest & far from the best However, of the ciggie lookalikes, the jaqvapour is one of the better ones - jacvapour.com/all-products/starter-kits/v1p-pcc-starter-kit-1047.htmlDo bear in mind though as the above comes with only one battery & has a KR808D fitting it is expensive & not that many other UK vendors sell spares for it.

Hi if that's what you want ecig wizard have a starter Kurt with pcc (personal charging case) for just indeed £12. I'll link to the tread tomorrow when I've got the computer up or you could look at my resent posts. Filling carts is really easy though so don't be scared. I would say get the ecig wizard cig-a-like and some juice, cause you can do it when it comes to filling. But also maybe get yourself a ego, cause they have. So much more ummf. In the same thread you will find q link to were you can get an ego for 7 quid. Good luck with it all. B

Cross posted with one day. Also I really liked my jac vapor. It felt like quality. I have ordered from ecig wizard so will give some feed back on that when I get it, but I'm guessing nothing to jac quality.

Hi sammy13, and ... However you're probably not going to like my response... Forget the cig-a-likes, they're not going to give the choice of flavours, and they're bl**dy expensive in re-use... ie battery life. Please just take a look at Riva's or eGo kits from the vendors on here, and you will find a totally new way. Why do you want a device that looks like a cig anyway? That's what's killing you... it's NOT cool anymore! Good luck to you and please come back if you don't find your answer straight away.

Hi Sammy I think if anyone here would have to give you honest advice we would all tell you to stay away from pre filled cartridges and cigalikes for two reasons . 1 battery life is very poor. 2 pre filled cartridges are the most expensive way of buying them. If you really want to give yourself a fair chance at quitting i would strongly advise a unit with a long battery life so you will not find yourself in a position without something to puff on and also i sealed unit which can be refilled and rebuilt with a different wick. Last week my mother started and i advised her the following product www.ukecigcabin.com/product/kanger-evod-starter-kit i have also had another friend purchase and start with them this week too all you will need to add is pick a juice and strength, my mother so far has been cigaret free since she started last week. However if you really must continue on the cigalike route then this is also a good vendor www.vapeescape.co.uk/ritchy-era-510-starter-kit~429. I wish you luck and i expect much more help to follow from others

The ecig wizard kit comes with empty cartridges, not pre-filled. What you are calling a cartridge is actually a cartomiser by the way - "cartridge" can mean something different. One kit which comes with prefilled is www.vapeescape.co.uk/ritchy-era-510-starter-kit~429 I would buy batteries and cartomisers with 510 connectors. That way you are not tied in to one supplier. The range of flavours available in pre-filled is limited, but I suspect that is true of pretty much everybody. Buying pre-filled is expensive and drastically limits your choice of flavours. It is really easy to fill your own. Even topping up pre-filled will halve the cost. There are lots of videos telling you how - one at www.vapeescape.co.uk/boge-510-standard-resistance-%285%29~145I did my first 6 weeks or so on cig-alikes. The people who say bigger batteries are better are right, but cig-sized batteries are OK if you have enough of them. I wound up with 6 and two chargers.

Thankyou for all your replies. I have read through the other thread similar to mine, and I see sky cig are doing a start pack for £10 plus £3.99 postage. Am I correct in thinking that with this you charge just the battery with the usb adapter or wall socket rather than in a case? Maybe this would be an option to get me something quick whilst I look through the rest of the recommendations. I was also wondering could I buy the cartomizers from a different company? Would they fit the sky cig battery I kind of get that impression from the posts but I'm not sure.

Crossed post. Skycig are 510 (unless they have changed recently), so you could get cartomisers elsewhere. I don't know that start pack but I doubt if you would get a battery case for £10. I'd go for the vapeescape kit rather than skycig because you get two batteries rather than one. If you are serious about giving up smoking always carry at least one spare. Spare cartomiser too. With the discount allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/1148/cigarette-liquid-vendors-discount-codes and cheaper postage it's a better deal even if you don't buy a couple of spare cartomisers while you are there.

Thankyou I will keep looking, The jaq vapour looks good but is out of stock. I honestly never imagined there would be so many different companies. I have charged my sky cig up, and case and both batteries are still working for now so I guess I urgently need to buy some cartomisers that will fit just to get me started how do I know where to look for the right size there has to be cheaper ones than sky cig

Look for 510 connections. In general there are two types of supplier - those who are basically trying to sell one type of cig-alike, and those who sell all sorts of stuff. The people on our discount list are the second type, most would not sell cartomisers which didn't have 510 connections, and all reply happily and pretty promptly to emails asking them questions. www.vapeescape.co.uk/510-pre-filled-cartridges-(5)~75 look reasonable. (You'll see vapeescape recommended often here because they are reasonably priced and reliable - but if you search you may well be able to get a better price). Get a bottle of juice as well and try topping up the cartomisers when they start to run out. You can't re-use them for ever, but they will last a couple of weeks or more. Even if you don't want to do that now, don't throw your old cartomisers away. You may change your mind later.
