Hi everyone. Just bought my very first ecigarette today and loving it already. It's the Ego-CE4 but the girl in the shop told me to never leave it on its side. Apparently the little small tube within the atomiser can let in liquid if its on its side and if this happens, you will end up with oil in your mouth on your next vape.
Has anyone else heard about this or have they experienced this problem? I already think its a bit of a hassle having to make sure this stays upright :-(

Hello First off it is not oil in an e-cig. Secondly CE4's do not leak unless they are broken or are poor manufacture, I have used LOADS of them and not had a leaking issue unless the tubes were cracked or the thread on the mouthpiece had come loose. Even if you do get a little liquid in your mouth, it will do you no harm unless you DRINK (ingest) quite a bit, ok it's not pleasant to taste but relatively safe in small doses. if I goit a new one and it leaked if left on it's side i'd consider it faulty. Where did you get it from?

Oil, liquid, you know what I meant!
It's not about it leaking out the side of the unit or leaking through one of the seals, I'm just talking about the very small tube inside the atomiser which the vapour comes out of into the mouthpiece. She said to be careful as if the liquid/oil/whatever you want to call it gets inside the tube, it can end up in your mouth when you inhale next.
I got it from a health stall in a local supermarket. It doesn't appear faulty in anyway

I've had loads of ce4 clearos and have always, always, always laid them on their side, as long as you don't overfill them or hang them upside down for ages lol, they'll be ok. We all get a bit of e liquid in our mouth now and again, it's no big deal, doesn't taste very nice, but don't swallow it. Sometimes, but not often, and it will prob happen when refilling, e liquid could go down centre tube, it'll gurgle a bit when you vape, just take it off the battery, blow through it 3 or 4 times from the mouth piece end get a bit of tissue at the base to catch it, and it will be fine.

Oil, liquid, you know what I meant! I didn't think you had called it oil, but that the vendor had called it that. It's just that there are some vendors that just don't know what they're talking about which is maybe the case here? maybe not. They should not leak to any degree, this weekend I carried a filled CE4 in my pocket not attached to anything for the whole of a very hot day and it did not leak, nor did I expect it to.

V3s (CE clearos etc.) and Mini Novas don't leak if everything is "in place" and fully lined up. One of the joys of them. me likee no leakee.

I'm really not sure if everyone is understanding what I'm asking. I don't mean the liquid leaking out of any of the compartments, I am talking about liquid getting inside the very thin tube which is visible when you take the mouthpiece off when the unit is laid on its side rather then upright

djtopping23 I take you're meaning the center tube inside the clearo that the coil sits on. If you take the drip tip off you should see a white silicon cap that sits on the wick, as long as this is on properly excess juice can't get down the center tube & even if it did it wouldn't get into your mouth, it would go down the tube & hit the top of your battery, flooding your wick in the process. You might find a bit of excess juice makes it's way down there from time to time, I always give my batteries a wipe around the connector with a cotton bud or tissue when I put them on charge just to be on the safe side. The only thing you need to watch out for is if some juice has got on the top of the silicon cap it can create a wee vacuum between cap & drip tip so when you take the drip tip off to refill just make sure it doesn't lift the cap any, always best to give the cap a gentle push down after a refill & make sure it's seated properly & there shouldn't be any probs . . . but even so I wouldn't leave it upside down for any length of time Oh &

As fiddles says, if in doubt...... A properly fitting CE4 type atomiser should not leak into the tube. A cheapo that is not made so well may well. Give it a tip and see.

Well, with the mouthpiece (drip tip) off, juice can and will go down the micro-air-hole in the silicone cap. With the drip tip in place, it should sit flush and make a seal; as long as the drip tip reaches the silicone cap, which I admit might not be 100% if not screwed in correctly or the whole insides of the clearomiser is wonky. (winky, wonky donkey)

djtopping23I keep my clearos upright when I'm not using them, but don't worry if they are on their sides otherwise. Like Cheralynn says, if they gurgle blow them out, but it won't happen often. It's probably difficult to find good staff for vaping shops. If this forum is any guide, most of us are too old to want to do it.

The lassie registers, starts a thread, gets annoyed as if we don't understand her or the terminology !!! Is quite rude to DiscoDes and then pisses off again never to return and has 3 posts. I have not looked but I bet she never said hello in the welcome thread either. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Awwwww ruffdog don't worry about it I don't. Some people just can't take advice and it's probably good this person never became an active member as maybe their attitude is not the best. This post was last year any way and long forgotten by me.
