This is what happened to my Evod today, its beauteous pea-green loveliness is no more 4 things can cause this from most likely to least: 1. Your coil head was not screwed into the base properly, pushing the centre tube up when screwing on the base causing it to crack. 2. Dropping, hitting, bending the tip (in a pocket) causing it to crack. 3. Juice attacking the plastic, normally the clear plastic goes foggy first. 4. A manufacturing defect.

Is your hubbys evods from the same supplier with the same juice as yours? Super-Shiny yes both came from fasttech. Both using homemade juices but not same flavour. He likes more flavour in his. I now have a 1/2 red 1/2 stainless evod as half the finish has just come off in my hand lol. What flavourings have you used Dibby? It could be those that have caused some degrading maybe.

oh dear and I am/was really looking forward to my evod and spinner coming ( tomorrow hopefully ) I wouldn't worry about it. Just looks like teething problems which was easily solved with a new atty which cost £2 so less than half the price of a pack of stinkies. I've just ordered another 4 evods in different colours so it certainly hasn't put me off using them. Seem like a great way to vape to me so enjoy.

Yeah, it's a toss up between 3 and 4, since I haven't dropped any of them and this is the second one from the same lot from the same vendor to do this in 2 days. The third one I got is showing a hairline crack just like the previous two and that hasn't had the same juice in, so I'm guessing 4. It's not good.

Jen if its showing a crack (not now fiddles !) before you've used it I would consider sending it back to the vendor, stating how many had failed, you may get them all replaced for free. Sent from my Nexus 7

I bought 3 of them from LF on May 2, all three are now either dead or cracked whereas my other 6 Evods I've had for longer aren't. I doubt any vendor would refund after 2 months as I can't prove anything either way, but I will drop LF a line and let them know. Just bad luck I guess.

Leaking cracking oh my God .... Am I the only lucky one ...lol I have 4 Evods 3 genuine ones and a clone I have had them for over 4 months fault free, I have only replaced one coil and that was because I lost the o ring when I was cleaning it, that said I have had to sort some out for friends. for the most part, most of the problems I have seen have been as a result of over tightening some part of them and the biggest clue to this comes from the clone because it wont work on over half of my batteries. No pipe wrench needed ..: When you put these together every thing only needs to be finger tight, the head has two o rings one seals it to the base and the one on the top seals the air tube, the base has one main o ring that seals it to the body, over tightening can split them. The other thing is the battery if you use a gen evod tank on a gen evod bat you wont have any problems but we don't ....! there is two problems that can happen here 1 it wont reach the post so it wont fire and this is why the clone wont work on some of mine 2 the post is to high on the battery and over tightening it will put pressure on the coil compressing every thing and can result forcing it out of the top as we can see with Jen about, that said all you have to do is stop tightening as soon as you feel it start to tighten just enough so it fires, you will be amazed how little this is. DON'T OVER TIGHTEN THEM ...!! I really hope this helps Pegasus and the cleaning of them:-

Must learn how to recoil at some point! I've been a big scaredy cat about it, but it would save a lot on atty heads I enjoy coiling, so would be happy to do any for you Jen if you really don't want to do it.

That so lovely of you Roger, thank you! I've got some pre-coiled wires on the way from Fasttech - perhaps you could walk me through the process when they arrive in a few weeks?

No problem at all Jen As I said I really enjoy wicking and coiling, I've got loads of 'stuff' so am always happy to have a go for members. I even managed to recoil an Aga-S for bomber at one of our meets in a dim pub without my reading glasses and it worked!!!

Brilliant I'll have a scrounge round for my old atty heads and PM you when I've got a decent amount ready.

OK. I must say that the Evod for an 'off the peg' atty is brilliant value and does give a cracking (no pun intended) vape. As with all mass market stuff there will be some duff ones. I once bought a pack of 510 atties (£20 for 5) and every single one was dead!!! I nearly gave up.

By and large our stuff is so much more reliable now, even with the odd duff something once in a while. Bad girl Jen, you said you were going to email LF on Monday . . . .
