Just a little reminder to everyone. My son-in-law, a policeman, told me that he and his colleagues have been called out twice in the past week to homes where e-cig batteries were left to charge unattended, and in both cases the batteries exploded. Best to keep reminding people about the risks involved in this I think. As a side note, he also says that a lot of his colleagues in the force are using e-cigs now

I have a friend who runs a vaping business and he gets so many chargers that come back "broken" 99.99% of them have been twisted, dropped, squashed or pulled hard resulting in them failing. I've not had a single charger or battery spectacularly fail on me but then I don't abuse them. Not to say stuff like batteries and chargers don't fail/explode on their own, they can but in the vast majority of cases it's heavy handedness or abuse.
Still it's common sense to not leave a cheaply made chinese charger charging without you being near it even if you haven't abused it.

It happened to me in my bedroom earlier this year, now I always charge batteries in a shed outside, if that goes up, at least I will have a home left, thanks for reminding us all Davess.

I wonder if they've been left in the sun, or the sun has moved round onto the charging unit whilst they've been left unattended as well?
Whatever the reasons, it's a timely reminder . . . thank you Davess.

I wonder if they've been left in the sun, or the sun has moved round onto the charging unit whilst they've been left unattended as well? I wondered that too! I had a few spare batteries in my car, but I've moved them for now with this heat, not that I've heard of people having problems, just again being safe rather than sorry!
