Hi Jess,
I'm glad the first one is over too. My son is sticking with it most of the time but his car destroyed itself last week and he did have a few smokes until he calmed down. He's now borrowing my car and acting as my driver if I need to go anywhere.

I'll bet you are, Phil, but now you know the team that will be looking after you & that you can vape too, not so daunting or worrying. x A right pain about your son's car, hope he was OK, but he's allowed a couple a calmers after that. Rather nice that you now have a chauffeur as a result, sit back & enjoy it!

Just to report that I had my 3rd chemo session today and the nurses were great about me vaping. One of them knew that the idiots in charge wanted to ban them and was on our side all the way.

Hi folks,
Just a little update.
I was due to have my last chemo session on Wednesday but the results from 2 blood tests showed that one of the blood levels was so low they've had to postpone it for a week.
I knew there was something wrong just from the way I was feeling, no strength or energy, no motivation and very severe heartburn and/or trapped wind. It got so bad that I haven't eaten anything for over a week and everything I drank hurt or burnt on the way down.
Today I got up feeling a lot better and managed a chicken cup a soup for dinner and managed to keep it down. I'll have another one for tea and maybe try some tea and toast for supper.
If anyone had told me that the chemo would have made me feel as ill as it did I seriously would have looked for some other treatment.
Onwards and upwards from now on. (I hope)

Have you asked the GP to prescribe something for the heartburn/wind? Also, you could ask to be prescribed 'Build up' drinks if you can't face eating much x

Hi Karma,
I'm seeing the top man on Monday so I'll be asking him for advice then.
The biggest problem was my being unable to eat anything or drink more than a t-spoon of even water or milk without it hurting like h£ll on the way down. Taking my last dose of tablets (12) before bed took more than an hour and even then some of them made the big white telephone before they dissolved.

Good luck with the appointment on Monday philh You should be able to access help for your side effects though from your GP or through your cancer treatment centre without having to wait to see the oncologist.

Sorry to hear you have been so unwell philh the heartburn/trapped wind is really painful no wonder you have had no energy or strength if you have hardly eaten for a week.
Its good to hear you are picking up a little now though, keep positive as you say onwards & upwards we are all rooting for you.
