Hello one and all, I got 2 efest 18350 protected Li-ion cells in the post today, and in the charger they wander up to 4.17/4.18 or so and the charger then stops. I also have two AW IMR non protected cells and they go all the way to 4.20. Should I consider this discrepancy normal, and fine? ??? Is it the specific chemistry or the maker which is the likely cause for the difference? ???

Haven't the foggiest AH . . . if they charge and work in a device, that's all I need to know. I'm sure someone more technically able will be able to answer your question though.

hi taken from smoktek.com ....so seems to be ok
Please note that due to their inherent safety, IMR cells don't have a protection circuit built in. They should never be discharged below 2.5 volts or cycle life/performance will be reduced. Maximum recommended charge voltage is 4.17V - 4.20V volts. Please check your cells with a volt meter during initial charging to be sure that your charger cuts off below this level, or cycle life will be reduced.

I was mostly wondering if it was some nuance with differing brands that I had yet to learn about! Thanks for confirming the reasonable range!

Wish I knew for sure. It's a pretty dead and unsatisfying vape no matter what I try with it. Hardly any vapour, not much flavour. I felt using a lower ohm atty would help and it did but not by enough. Went from 2.5 to 1.8, or at least that's what it says on the boxes for them. However I know having put the whole new box of them on the vamo that not one of them ventures below 2.0, and most are 2.1. 2.2 and higher. I have my suspicions about what might be wrong, but can't fix the problem if it is what I think it is.

Oh this is embarrassing - I thought I'd spotted one everyone else missed including the reviewers. I was hoping to make it my first attempt at reviewing too. It's a Silp made by Vision. Now it's meant to be a Slip according to all the things one sees and what one's instinct tells you, but it's spelled Silp, etched forever that way on the barrel too. It's sort of funny, because it's just so very bad. I think I can see why it's never been reviewed. High hopes I had for it are now rather dashed.

If it isn't working are you going to return it to the vendor?
