Irritating link on every page

I don't think most people would mind making voluntary donations now and then.

On the morality of advert blockers, what people making money off ads don't think about is that mobiles have limited data tarrifs with occasionally huge charges for going over their allowance that every byte counts.
Also my 1mb connection at home makes surfing painful enough as it is.
Finally adverts are a security risk and no one in IT would generally allow ads on their devices.

So I'd rather make a donation than put up with ads.

Why don't you do what a lot of other forums do... have a premium members section.

You could charge anything between £10 - £25 for a membership.

Premium membership could include things like a free mug / pen / keyring or even forum branded vaping gear which would be cool.

Also, the premium section of the site could have premium members only deals and competitions which are not available to none premium members.

It would be a good little way of paying for the site to be ad free.

I had noticed a long time ago that until I signed in there were adverts at the top of the page but as soon as I signed in they disappeared and I did fleetingly wonder why that was.

Chrissie you already do so much work on this forum with all the codes and things to get it looking how we want it; it's really not right that you should pay out of your own money to keep it ad free. Thank you very much indeed for doing so until now.  

I would certainly be happy to pay a membership charge to help cover it, as has also been suggested above.

Phoenixflame (Julie) I have the ad free set to signed in members only - hence why guests/members not signed in saw the ads. That way the guests didn't use up the paid for add free page views.

I'm hesitating at the moment adding any more credits as I am puzzled as to how we could suddenly use up over 100,000 page views in less than 5 days.

This is so sad to know that Chrissie and another member is paying for our enjoyment. I thank you both so much but it has to stop. Do other forums pay I.E ukv and such like or is this a proboard thingy.

Thanks for replying to my PM. I now know the amount you pay is not bank busting, BUT, that is not the point!! Why should you have to fork out of your own pocket for everyone else to use the forum ad free? That's not right whichever way you look at it.

Regarding the page view numbers. Can you contact them about it in case there's some kind of blip or error?
