Thanks! I'm amazed more than proud. I have to remind myself that I've given up as I get more pleasure vaping than I've had smoking in years. Maybe it's because it's still new - I still get the odd cigarette craving - but I'm extolling the virtues of vaping to anyone who will listen

Had my first go at cleaning and dry burning the evods, as I've been getting much less vape over the past couple of days -and today my usual bananas and cream tasted a bit off. Haven't tried them yet, as I swapped to new heads for the evening as I wanted to ensure they are dry. The new heads are much better, back to tasty flavours! Also ordered a new shiny - an MVP2. My first pro vaping gear! V excited I'm putting this in writing so I can't go back on it: no more buying gear until Xmas for me, ejuice only!

I had a go at cleaning and dry burning the evods last night - I left them to dry, and was forced to try one after putting Turkish delight in my in-use head, hating it, and then not being able to get rid of the flavour. My next vape was strawberries with Turkish delight (yuck) then bananas with Turkish delight - you get the picture. Anyhoo, my cleaning efforts weren't very successful. The vape was still very weak and hard to draw. It hadn't been cleaned before, and had juice in for 5 days before I cleaned it. I changed the coil and had an immediate improvement. So, a few maintenance questions: How often should I be cleaning and dry burning? How often should I be changing the coil? Is it better to leave the evods empty when not being used, or is it ok to keep juice in them even if not being used for a few days? Is it better to learn how to rewick and recoil myself - is frequent coil changes just part and parcel of vaping? I'm getting them for £1.20 each from myepack, but as I've been using all 5 evods for different flavours, that's a lot of maintenance! I followed the cleaning method in this vid: And I read through Super-Shiny 's evod thread here: allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/22461/evod-protank-tips-tricks?page=4&scrollTo=535534But was disappointed with my personal results. Maybe I just need more practice! Sorry for so many questions - thanks for your help again!

Maybe I just need more practice! Sorry for so many questions - thanks for your help again! Results may vary but I tend to clean my evods/protanks after each tank is drained, simply by giving them a good rinse in warm water (with a bit of fairly liquid in the tank bit) and then letting air dry overnight. If the vape is weak its probably still wet from water and not wicking right - best to leave it to dry first but if not leave a good 5 mins standing to soak the juice and then give a few test fires before vaping. Treated this way I tend to get a couple of weeks out of a coil - but when it tastes nasty its time for a change - when using evods I'd budget to be getting through about a box a month - cheaper to rewick for sure but its not as easy as it looks (bear in mind I am fairly inept as such things).

Wanna bet on that?? Hah! I'm already tempted with the vv 3.0 as well so we'll see. I casually dropped it into conversation tonight; Mrs ionian just gave me a withering look... Thanks for the tips dreamylittledream - I think you're right about the wet wick, plus the coils have been a bit gunky for a while and needed cleaning sooner. I'll remember to keep them cleaner this week. My MVP2 arrived today - same vape but so much tastier! Have the battery running at a modest 3.9v with my banana & cream ADV and it's luuurverly the vape is so much thicker - going back to the egos feels really airy and lacking in punch. Haven't tried the iClear30 that came with it yet.

Thanks intelicide - I hoped that this thread could be in part a vaping blog, and part a reference for others wanting to get started. So far so good, and it's good to see that others have followed a similar path. I'm ABSOLUTELY NOT going to buy a mini protank at the moment (honest!) as I've got 5 iClear16s on the way with the vv3.0 that I acquired in a game of chance but out of interest why is it considered such an upgrade? Does the glass make a big difference to the taste? It's a BCC right, like the evod? Just trying to plan my Xmas list nice and early!

I prefer glass to plastic; everything tastes better imo but the big one for me is cinnamon, I love it and it doesn't do well in plastic tanks. Plus the mini protank has to be a design classic; it's sleek, sexy and functional.

Feel free to move into Innokin Close and join our semi mega blog here allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/25603/desperate-vapers-dreamylittledream-diariesIts a very friendly neighbourhood lol With regard to protanks - glass does seem to give a cleaner taste (it maybe semi psychosomatic who knows) and personally I prefer the feel of a metal drip tip to a plastic one - more solid somehow - some feel the opposite mind but the v2 version of both the mini and full size protanks have interchangeable drip tips anyway so you can put whichever one on you like. Overall though for me protanks just give more vapour and taste than a evod - although its not a massive difference. The big advantage is some juices kill plastic tanks - so they need the glass and metal of a protank if you don't want them to semi melt.... The Iclear16s give a very different vape however, its not one that rings my bells but lots of people love it - they are however undoubtedly very good as what they do...

ionian - just read through the whole thread, so hope I caan remember ll the points I wanted to make You said about how you will look?
OK, 2 blokes stood next to each other. One is 'chewing' a biro. The other puts some leaves wrapped in paper in his mouth & sets fire to it. Which one looks stupid? You look like you're chewing a biro, to the un-initiated You said:Check out the quote from Adam78 in my signature. Something about vaping @ work.Stealth vape - Take a draw, hold it in for 15-20 seconds - hey presto, it's gone. (People think your chewing a biro, again ) Think that's it - so, again, welcome to the madhouse - well done so far - enjoy your vaping journey. Oh yeah, i find evods better than CE4/5s, but my protanks win hands down for me (not used iClears though, and most say the protank2 is better still - check out fasttech or focalecig - worth the wait from china and you wont feel like you're spending )

Thanks fred - looks like I'll be shopping again, but maybe they can disappear once they arrive, until xmas. The coil heads listed next to the tank - are they compatible? They say pro tanks, not minis - do they use the same coils? glentoran - I don't know, but it sure looks pretty!
